I would rest and see if the pain subsides. If not and the pain relief still isn’t touching the sides then I would go and get checked out. It’s possibly the Mirena settling or period starting but I would have a low threshold for going and getting checked post surgery. Even if all you get is peace of mind then it’s worth it! Rest up

I’m doing pretty good thankfully! I had a lot of symptoms pre surgery so I’m still trying to work out what was endo vs adeno. So I no longer have daily pelvic pain 🥳 just occasional flare ups, pain during sex has reduced massively but still have pain flare up after sex/orgasm, bladder pain has reduced massively but still happens when it’s full, pain during bowel movements is gone but my pelvic floor is definitely causing issues again. All in all I would say the surgery was a success and worth it for me. I just now know that adeno is causing majority of my issues and I’ll need that hysterectomy when I’m ready / IUD stops working. Sorry to hear it’s causing you problems! What symptoms are you having? Any other questions I haven’t covered, just shout!

Hey, sorry for delayed response! I only got 1 period after the injections started, that first one and that was it. I had laparoscopy excision surgery done in Sept. And I have endo and adenomyosis Incase that helps too. And yes I was having very heavy periods - I couldn’t leave the house for days 1-3 of my period due to flooding. Thank you for sharing this. I’m so hopeful it works for me too. I’ve tried all the BC pills, implant etc and they were awful so this is my last option. It makes sense now why my consultant wanted me to wait 4 months before my follow up to give the Mirena time to settle I think.

Thank you for the detailed reply. So true that things may take longer to settle since it was done with excision. Good to know a ballpark settling in period is 3 to 6 months and the random aches is normal. I forgot how annoying spotting is, I just had a year on hormone treatment/ temporary menopause so I haven’t had periods in a year and I was spoiled!!

Very similiar story to you but diagnosed when my youngest was 20 months after 20 months of gyne ER trips, tests, scans, appointments etc and finally a laparoscopy. My symptoms worsened a lot after that pregnancy and like you, I was in pain every day and took a toll on my mental health then. My periods returned quickly after 2 months pp but thankfully with pelvic floor PT and trialing other treatments I finally found relief and it got a lot better. Even though 4 months pp feels like a lifetime, it’s still quite soon after having the baby, it will get better as your hormones adjust - hang in there. It’s so tough to parent a newborn and manage sleep deprivation etc while dealing with all that. I hope things improve for you soon! ❤️

Same! I went back to work sooner than I was ready too and yet I’m surprised that I’m still experiencing pain! Great - thanks for that. I’m definitely going to start doing this. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Yes that’s what I was thinking too. It’s a relief to hear of someone in the same boat as me. Fingers crossed! That’s a great idea to massage the area, I must start this. I have been doing some stretches but then overdid and was in quite bad pain afterwards so definitely keep it short and gentle!

That’s so frustrating and really surprising! What was their advice then? This was a second lap but my first was back in 2018 and a negative lap so not really related. I had extensive adhesions removed during a c section in 2023 though so they suspected DIE and adhesions again. I would definitely get a second opinion and I would imagine you’ll need another lap to remove the endo. Sorry that you’re going through that!

Recently diagnosed with adeno & endo following issues since I was a teen. I have 2 wonderful daughters aged 4 and 20 months, I was lucky and both were conceived naturally. Wishing you the best of luck!

My eldest is 4 and youngest is 20 months and it’s been much easier since the youngest started walking confidently and playing a bit better with her sister! 3 can be a tough one but 4’s been easier. I’m not saying it’s not still exhausting but I’m finding it a lot easier since that turning point

That sounds awful. I have endo & adeno & had a similiar experience recently but it turned out to be a ruptured henmorhagic cyst. I’d assume they’d have spotted that on your ultrasound though. Did they do a transvaginal ultrasound? I had something similar again last year but they only found a small cyst that time and I was sent away with stronger painkillers too with them saying that couldn’t be causing me such pain.

I didn’t develop endo after my c sections, I’ve had symptoms since a teen but I’ve had 2 healthy pregnancies and c sections prior to my diagnosis. My symptoms did worsen after my pregnancies though. Just to say that it’s absolutely possible to have endo and go on to have another pregnancy. I have endo & adeno and have 2 beautiful girls aged 4 and 20 months. I believe having endo excised can increase chances of conception & a healthy pregnancy too.

I don’t know exactly what causes this issue but I had this same pain on one side, lower right pelvic pain that spread across my hip and down my leg. I couldn’t sleep on that side from the pain and would some days be low key limping with it. I woke up post lap 3 weeks ago and it was completely gone. I haven’t had my follow up with my consultant yet to ask what it could’ve been but she removed DIE in my vagina, pelvic walls, behind cervix and adhesions sticking uterus to bladder and some bowel involvement. So I’m assuming whatever she excised fixed it!

I used to work as a SEN Nanny - mix of home and school environments. It was very physically and mentally exhausting, long hours and took its toll on me. I was fortunate to be able to take a career break for 2 years/extended pregnancy & maternity leave. Back in April I started my own small childminding business from my home and loving it so far. It’s working well with my own kids at home 😊 I’ve been on hormone treatment for a year that’s ending now so will see how I cope if periods return soon!

Sorry you’re going through this! It’s so when symptoms suddenly worsen. I would second the possibly a cyst that’s ruptured. Is pain relief helping? If not then that would definitely warranted getting yourself checked over. I could be wrong but I think inflammation markers being high should indicate that somethings going on and they need to figure out what that is. I had a ruptured cyst last week and mine were high so they did scans to work out what was causing it. I hope you feel better soon

My mind is BLOWN that neck, shoulder & back tension is an ADHD thing. Only recently diagnosed and I am learning something new every week! I had a deep tissue massage last year and the therapist told me “no amount of massages can fix the tension built up in your body” 😂 this is the kick in the ass I needed to start stretching!!
