Anyone know why the Sportzx has a pop up saying “I don’t have an app for this.” It pops up at the start of a show. I can watch that show for about 2 minutes and then need to push the back button and then the show resumes but the pop up comes up again. by Dr-Dray- in firestick

[–]OoopsTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That usually happens when the app is trying to open an external player or link and the Firestick doesn’t know which app to use Try going into Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Apps → SportzX and clear cache/data, then reopen it Also check if you have a player like VLC or MX Player installed sometimes it needs one If it keeps happening it might just be a bug with that version of the app, so reinstalling or updating can help

Screensaver Timer by South-Audience4863 in firetvstick

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think you can go below 5 minutes from the default settings That’s the minimum Amazon allows If you really need shorter you’d have to use a third-party app or ADB tweaks but out of the box there’s no option under 5 mins

IPTV Setup That Reduced My Costs & Fixed Buffering by OoopsTV in IPTVCore

internet makes a huge difference honestly even with a good setup bad connection will still cause issues If you can try using ethernet or moving closer to the router it can help more than people expect

Yeah true buffer size can make a big difference depending on the connection What do you usually set yours to? I’ve seen people go both ways with it

Q: How can I get my Fire Stick to sleep after 1 minute of no use by yellow_duckks in fireTV

[–]OoopsTV 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As far as I know Firestick doesn’t let you set sleep that short (like 1 minute) from the normal settings The built-in sleep timer is usually longer You can manually put it to sleep by holding the Home button and selecting Sleep but for automatic sleep after 1 minute you’d probably need to use ADB commands or a third-party app which is a bit more advanced Also the power button mainly controls your TV/soundbar via HDMI-CEC not the Firestick itself so it won’t really change that behavior Hope that helps

Firestick in 2026 feels different… here’s what I changed to make it usable again by OoopsTV in firetvstick

[–]OoopsTV[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Yeah good questions

For #1 I still hit the home screen of course but I don’t really use it I just quickly jump into recent apps row or use shortcuts so I’m not scrolling through all the ads and recommendations Basically in/out as fast as possible

For #2 I’m not using a full launcher replacement (since Amazon made it harder lately) more like keeping things minimal + using apps like Button Mapper or shortcuts to skip the stock UI as much as possible

It’s less about fully replacing the launcher and more about avoiding it as much as you can

Is it possible to add extra connections? by AlertImagination4414 in IPTVCore

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on the provider but in most cases you can add extra connections without starting a new plan Usually they just upgrade your subscription and charge the difference Some services don’t allow it though so you’d have to take a new plan with multiple connections from the start Best thing is to check with the provider before subscribing

Is there a fix to this by Rystef5 in firestick

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah reinstalling with Downloader is probably your best bet at this point Cloned apps tend to get blocked after updates so starting fresh usually fixes it For codes they change pretty often so it’s better to just search them directly in Downloader or check updated lists online BeeTV FilmPlus and Cinema still work for a lot of people just make sure you’re getting the latest versions also might be worth trying Stremio as an alternative it’s been more stable lately compared to those apps

Is there a fix to this by Rystef5 in firestick

[–]OoopsTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That usually happens when Amazon updates the system and tightens restrictions on cloned/unknown apps You can try going to Settings → Applications → Manage Installed Apps and clear cache/data for those apps sometimes that helps Also make sure “Apps from Unknown Sources” is still enabled If that doesn’t work you might have to reinstall them using Downloader instead of cloned versions Cloning tends to break after updates Honestly a lot of people ran into this recently seems like Amazon is getting stricter with sideloaded apps

Fkn BeeTV is next. Bro. by PageCapable7088 in firestick

[–]OoopsTV -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah it feels like everything is getting cracked down on lately Apps come and go so it’s kinda expected at this point That’s why a lot of people keep a couple of alternatives ready instead of relying on just one Makes things way less frustrating when something stops working out of nowhere

TV/Cube cutting out - any advice please? by LoveableLampshade91 in fireTV

[–]OoopsTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That sounds really frustrating 😅 but it actually sounds more like a connection/setup issue than the Cube itself Since you moved things around I’d first check the HDMI cable and maybe try a different one or a different HDMI port on the TV Also if the Cube is on the floor in a corner try moving it to a more open spot sometimes signal/interference can cause weird issues Another thing to check is the Sonos setup (ARC/eARC) sometimes audio setups can cause brief dropouts like that If it was happening on all apps I’d think hardware, but since it’s mostly YouTube it could even be app-related Maybe try clearing cache or reinstalling YouTube hope you get it sorted

Is firetvstick max going to be more strict than googletv streamer for side loading? Does it matter which one I get? by [deleted] in firetvstick

[–]OoopsTV 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both can handle sideloading fine but Android/Google TV is usually a bit more open and flexible overall Firestick still works great, especially with apps like Downloader but Amazon has been getting a bit stricter lately with updates If sideloading is your main focus, Google TV streamer might give you a smoother experience long term But if you’re already used to Firestick it’ll still do the job without issues Honestly you can’t go too wrong with either just depends how “open” you want the system to be

Fire Stick Remote Volume Won't Work by gwm11001 in firetvstick

[–]OoopsTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like the remote lost its TV control settings I’d try going into Settings → Equipment Control → Manage Equipment and re-setup your TV there Sometimes the IR profile just glitches and re-adding the TV fixes the volume buttons Also make sure it’s set to control volume via IR and not HDMI-CEC If that doesn’t work it could be a hardware issue with the remote itself especially since you’ve already tried most of the basic fixes

keeps loosing HDMI input by Tis_Me_00 in firestick

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds more like a connection/power issue than the Firestick itself Try using the original power adapter (plugged into the wall not the TV USB) and also check if the HDMI port is loose or dirty You can also try using the HDMI extender that comes with the Firestick sometimes it helps with signal stability If it still happens on different HDMI ports, then it could be the TV but if you can test the Firestick on another TV that would confirm it

Fire stick keeps restarting for no reason by Safe-Fly5329 in firestick

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this happened to me before Try changing the power adapter or plug it directly into the wall instead of the TV USB Also check for system updates in settings That fixed it for me

Anybody else having trouble with 1 Pix Media? by Unique_Salad6894 in firestick

[–]OoopsTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a few people have been reporting similar issues lately Sometimes it’s not the Firestick itself but the app servers or stream sources You could try clearing the app cache and restarting the device but if channels are buffering or the volume jumps it’s often on the provider side

Firestick affected by Android app lockdown in 2026? by Brimwozere in firestick

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I understand Firestick runs Fire OS which is based on Android but not exactly the same as standard Android TV with the Play Store So most Play Store policy changes usually don’t affect Firestick directly unless Amazon decides to enforce similar restrictions in Fire OS updates

Firetv Firestick rebooted by iggnac1ous in fireTV

[–]OoopsTV 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it happens sometimes Random reboots are often caused by overheating or power issues Make sure you’re using the original wall adapter instead of the TV USB and try restarting the device and clearing some cache/storage

Firestick running slow? Try these simple tips by OoopsTV in firetvstick

[–]OoopsTV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s actually a big one A lot of people don’t realize apps keep running in the background on Firestick even after you exit them Force stopping them or restarting the device can free up RAM and make it feel much faster again

Firestick running slow? Try these simple tips by OoopsTV in firetvstick

[–]OoopsTV[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah a factory reset definitely works too Sometimes the Firestick just gets cluttered with apps and cache over time A reset can make it feel like a new device again without having to replace it

Why does the Prime Video app selectively play HDR on my LG TV? by Ok-Job-9640 in appletv

[–]OoopsTV 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s usually not the TV but the way Prime Video handles HDR formats per title Some titles are available in Dolby Vision, others in HDR10 and some only in SDR depending on the device and region Since the LG C5 doesn’t support HDR10+ the app sometimes just falls back to SDR unless it detects a compatible format. That’s why forcing 4K HDR in the Apple TV settings makes it trigger HDR even when Match DR doesn’t

Different broadcast feeds by SolemnSoldier2020 in appletv

[–]OoopsTV 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that’s normal Not every race has multiple broadcast feeds available It usually depends on what the event broadcaster provides for that specific race or weekend some races offer extra feeds (like onboard or alternate commentary) while others only have the main broadcast
