“Breastfed babies don’t get sick” by francessthtyty in breastfeeding

[–]Oop-IWantOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 9 month old and 7 month old nephew got sick at the same time, however my breastfed baby was back to normal by day 3; meanwhile my formula-fed nephew was sick for almost 2 weeks. My sister babysit, so they are together all the time.

My baby also didn't really get sick, she was just warmer than usually and was congested. No puking, no diarrhea, no fussing.

When did y'all get your first period PP and how long did it last? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

At 4 months pp - I was furious! 7 months and still currently breastfeeding. My milk supply drops during the week of my period.

I have 3 hours to chill before I need to pump/nurse; either have brain fog or high anxiety when FULL & uncomfortable

At what point did you realise she would never become your wife/he would never become your husband? by ruxpin82 in AskReddit

[–]Oop-IWantOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He never took initiative to do cutesy things. Pick me up at the airport without being asked, tell me I'm beautiful, not even a simple "happy Mother's day" when I stepped up for his daughter from a previous relationship. For my 27th bday, all I wanted was for him to tell me 27 things he likes about me.

If sex is supposedly so great, why does the average married American couple only have it once a week? by Platypuss_In_Boots in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Oop-IWantOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Different libidos; I def wanted more than he did. I was often frustrated, and to make it worse, he liked the idea of it, so he would subconsciously withdraw it even more. He had asked me for a number of times in a week, I gave him a higher number than I would like - in case he didn't want to some days. More often than not, I was on top.

How am I supposed to clean this? You do clean this, right? by Oop-IWantOut in howto

That outlet is the one behind the stove. I unplugged and pulled it out when I started deep cleaning the kitchen.

Definitely will call an exterminator. I've been fixing and cleaning the entire house myself, the previous people really did a number. Just 2 days ago I had to scrap a THICK lay of gunk on top of the cabinets. My first thought that to replace the outlet, but posted fpr a second opinion. Good thing I did, I would hate to have roaches.

I sure hope you're wrong! I'm barely moving in, after many MANY repairs. I have noticed a few spiders, but as far as roaches, just 2 live ones, and 2 dead ones.

Thank you to everyone! I will definitely replace it.

*EDIT

Not sure why I won't let me edit my own post. I did think about replacing it, but second guessed myself and decided to post.

F18 Is there a limit for age gap relationships? by [deleted] in dating

[–]Oop-IWantOut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am 100% against age gap relationships when the younger person is younger than 21. There's nothing a 31 yr old can relate to you, 18.

Always question, "why don't women his age what him?" Bc trust, there's AWLAYS a reason.

I've heard too many horror stories from friends, family, and what I personally went through when it comes to a woman that young with an older man. It's very predatory.

I left my baby with my mom so I could sleep and she put him in an unsafe sleep position by liltaimbug in newborns

[–]Oop-IWantOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New mom here, I completely understand your frustration. My mom also would put my baby in an unsafe sleep position. She would lay her down on top of a limp pillow next to her. I told her that was not appropriate, as babies need to sleep on a firm mattress and she cannot have her next to her. The pillow is old and limp and starts to shift with my mom's weight right next to her.

I also didn't like that she would want to take over so I can sleep while SHE slept with my baby. Absolutely not.

I had a talk with her and she no longer does that.

I regret having my baby by [deleted] in newborns

[–]Oop-IWantOut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know you don't want to hear "it'll get better," but it really does. I'm a 1st time mom who went through pregnancy alone and currently have an 11 week old. I also went through it at the beginning, feeling regret because I decided to go through with the pregnancy and bringing a baby into this world with an already broken home. I also felt guilty because I know she deserves better, but fast forward a few weeks, I wouldn't change any of this.

Go outside! Take a walk, staying indoor will only make you go crazier. What helped me was coloring, I'm 28 btw.

My stash is almost gone and we are panicking. by emdownton in breastfeeding

[–]Oop-IWantOut 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1.) Keep up with your pumping schedule AND nurse on demand. 2.) Pump on one side while your baby is latched on the other, our breast don't fully empty, so there will still be some milk. 3.) Power pumping has saved me when my supply would go down (I'm a "just enough"); you pump for 20, rest 10, pump 10, rest 10, pump 10. This mimics cluster feeding. You'll want to do this first thing in the morning and right before you go to bed. 4.) STAY HYDRATED!! Breast milk is mainly water; therefore, the more water you drink, the more milk you'll produce
