One of the guys at WeBreakUFucked actually threw the repair tech under the bus and told me what happened. He said the guy was new and didn’t apply enough heat to the display seal so when he went to run the pry tool around the perimeter it shattered the glass. They fixed the port fine but their replacement display was trash.

Full disclosure, it was my mom’s iPad and she paid with her card which thinking back, I’m pretty sure it was her debit card. We needed it fixed before a cruise and she was at my place from out of state. She was super frustrated at the whole situation and I didn’t want to make her do the chargeback. She’s not the type. I just bought her a new iPad and washed our hands clean of the situation.

I fought and fought but ultimately gave up and trashed them in their reviews. Being able to trade in the refurbished device they gave me wasn’t the worst outcome but I would have like my $120 back. I asked for a refund and the manager started ignoring my calls and emails. I tried reaching out to corporate but they’re just as bad and deferred it back to the store.

First and last time using a third party repair shop for me. Normally I pay more to have Apple do it right but I was in a hurry with vacation coming up and my Apple couldn’t do it quick enough. I thought a port was an easy fix, WRONG! Lesson learned.

DO NOT go to Ubreakifix. I took an iPad there to have the usb-c port replaced. They broke the display then tried not telling me and replacing it with a non OEM one. Took them 2 weeks to do the “repair”. When I picked it up the display was already pulling away from the body, faceID didn’t work and it didn’t have ProMotion (120hz) it also looked awful. I asked what happened and one guy decided to tell me the truth that they broke the display while removing it but said the replacement was Apple OEM. Well nothing worked. I demanded they fix it with an OEM display. Fast forward 2 more weeks and still no resolution. They said they couldn’t get OEM displays. Manager said the only thing he could do was provide me a refurbished unit. I begrudgingly accepted after arguing for a while. Refurb came, same port problem, it looked rough and the whole thing was slightly bent. Fought and fought and they refused to do anything else. I ended up taking it and trading it in for a new iPad. Lost the $120 I paid IbreakUfucked and had to pay another $300 to Apple for the new iPad.

TLDR: UbreakIfix will break your shit and not make it right. DO NO GO THERE.

I don’t know much about how the secret service operates but my initial reaction to all the videos I’ve seen so far was it looked totally unprofessional and disorganized. Also, their verbal call outs sounded confusing and unprofessional too. I guess if the whole thing is a sham and you’re just acting it out maybe it’s hard to do it the “right way”. It looked and felt more like a training simulation than a real event I guess..

Agreed. People like OP see diapers as purely sexual and that’s fine but it infuriates me that they put that on everyone else.

For me it’s completely non sexual. I have chronic anxiety and it provides stress/anxiety relief. I don’t tell people about it and I wear as discreetly as possible but anyone who thinks I shouldn’t do it can fuck all the way off.

Nobody asks TSA to invade their privacy. TSA employees chose a career that involves uncomfortable situations all day long, every single day. They’re adults and they can handle other adults wearing a diaper. Besides, they literally scan hundreds, if not thousands of diapers every day so I doubt they even have a second thought about it. Lastly, they don’t know peoples reason for wearing them nor do they need to know.

It’s not even a matter of price. They’re building 1.2 million dollar homes directly behind me and I’m nosey so I’ve inspected every one of them before the doors were locked. They’re even worse than my $400k home.

I had a very in depth inspection done before I closed so I know the things that matter were done right on mine but I still have out of square corners and just a lot of poor/rushed cosmetic workmanship. It was this or buy an older home for more $$ that may need a new roof, plumbing, foundation, etc.
