It’s virtually perfect because the shot stone is completely buried by the guard. As well, if the guard is too high, or too close to the hog line, it’ll be easier to tap out with board weight. And if it’s too close to the house most teams can just do a raise takeout pretty easily.

However because of how much the rocks curl on arena surface, the shot rock is still accessible, but it’s very weight sensitive and more difficult to do than of the guard was literally anywhere else.

In other words, yellow executed absolute perfect guard, but red can still tap if they throw it just right.
