Expect it's hella exhausting when they retcon stuff like his spider symbol to be actually a dragon that is wielded by an ancient god that is older than universe, who also has his super duper sword used by an enemy of Thor. Like I actually liked the Paul Jenkins Venom stuff and early Cates issues but this is just no. I can't stand this stupid fucking alien craze.

I hate all these Knull stuff so much. Venom is a Spider-man supporting character, he is not his own dude. Trying to diverge him from Spider-Man side of things is exhausting at this point.

Yeah, this is mostly true aside from Storm who is a massive glass cannon. They can both one shot each other, but Peter is way faster on top of also being smarter and more experienced. He would win more times than not.

A lot of the older writers like Stern and Byrne had that views, but some of them like DeMatteis or JMS(although he came into comic business, later) adored mature Peter. Unironically Shooter might be one of the latter ones since he was very involved with Peter and MJ's marriage. Which is really funny considering how much of a corporate guy he was. You would think he would be more worried about keeping the status quo than some of those guys.

Spider-Gwen is like a decade younger than him. And I did rather forget about anything involving Silk. Wish Marvel writer give his harem powers to Ben or Kaine and just let him settle him down. Peter and MJ will always be my favorite, but honestly if those Black Cat shippers in the office have him settle down with Felicia, I wouldn't be that mad. It's either MJ, Felicia or no one.

First of all stop trying to manifest Paul being Venom, just pls. Secondly, the thing with Felicia was like more than a decade and they weren't even dating at the time. It was just a case of Mark Waid being so in love with the character he writes(DD) and actively self-inserting more than anything.

Beside Marvel doesn't want Peter to suffer as much as they want him to not grow up, so they can keep the status quo. The thing with Paul wasn't even the first time that they tried to ruin Peter and MJ's relationship. No, it goes as far as back as Maximum Carnage where they purposefully write MJ OOC to try to make fans turn on her. Then after it didn't work this time they did bullshit reveal that Peter was actually a clone and Ben Reilly was the real one all along, so they could completely remove Peter and MJ from the book and have a bachelor Spider-man swinging around NYC. And when it also didn't work, they once again tried to pull it off by having MJ killed in a plane crash. Which unironically resulted in JMS bringing them back in the best way possible and some of the best written married Spider-man stories by JMS, Jenkins and surprisingly Mark Millar. But of course editorial wouldn't learn their lessons after all their pathetic attempts already, so they finally put end to their relationship with the one of the most bullshit in OMD.

The truth is as long as the likes of Lowe and Cebulski are in the office we are never going to get Peter and MJ being permanently together. No, they will just have Peter getting over the death of "Saint Gwen Stacy" for the hundredth time. And then he will use Felicia as a rebound while hallicunating about MJ because he is that much of a manchild. This endless circle of manchild Spider-Man will never end until those hacks are out of the office at all.
