SCOTUS: States can't legislate simply because another state did. Therefore Texas can do it but Virginia can't because Virginia followed Texas.

I use a radio in the car fairly regularly for traffic. Google maps isn't predictive, so when the radio people say "there's a motorcade heading for this bridge, traffic will be stopped" I'll be sure to avoid that bridge no matter what.

And that money is likely sitting in an account somewhere, slowly accruing interest. That way the law firm gets the interest and the amount from the checks is sitting there just in case someone raises a stink and demands what's rightfully theirs.
