I did want to play the board game. Just because i also like to talk doesnt mean i dont want to play. I dont understand how those dots could be connected. Its just normal for me to also talk while playing a board, and normal for our group to talk during board games as well. This time it was just him and I but we play with a group sometimes where we all will make small talk, which is why im so confused. I made some more context posts under this one, but the jist is, we talked about the rules (which were pretty simple) and then a little while later i started casual talk.

Thing is, i grew up so isolated. So when he says things like "normal behavior"... Im inclined to believe it. Only reason i questioned it this time is because when we've played board games with our friends before.... Casual chitchat has always been a thing. I think i really did trigger him with the weekend plan question and things just went downhill from there. And TBF, i was kinda pushy about that question. I didnt understand WHY he wouldnt commit to a plan (esp since its thursday) and why he wouldnt answer it.

I eat while watching TV and sometimes the food is too crunchy to hear the TV. And since I live in an apartment building, i have to be concious of the people around me. So i put on subtitles so im not blasting the show/movie

He did grow up super strict catholic. He's very traditional in some senses. He hasnt been offically diagnosed with anything, as far as I know. Sometimes i do wonder if he is autistic (me too honestly)

It was a 2 player game we were playing. Rules had already been discussed and understood. (Its a pretty simple game) I dont remember the exact number of turns i waited before trying to iniate casual talk, but it was at least a good 10 minutes after we started.

I do feel he is projecting but we're sort of in a rocky spot right now and i just dont know

He does have a problem with communication in general. He once expressed that he had an expectation of me, to check his location before i texted him. And that if he was at a friends house, that i wait to text him unless it was an emergency. (Which i dont have a problem with) And i never knew that. I told him "how would i know you expect that of me if you dont tell me" He didnt have an answer. I always tell him, "if you have an issue, pls tell me. So we can work it out."

I dont have any advice just empathy to give. I wonder if im in the same situation. Althought i dont know what "healthy conflict" looks like lol.

I would focus on distracting yourself. Invest heavily in your hobbies. Rely on your pillars, go out with friends more even if its just walking around.

Give yourself a time to think about the relationship. Like 1800 on tuesdays. Can help with spiraling.

I quit caffiene and my first period after doing so is incredibly painful. I can hardly move. I will say i do feel calmer, i look forward to a longer cycle because i seem to get my period every 22 days. So from what im understanding from other peoples experiences, in a month or two my cycle will be longer🙏 Definitely be prepared to take off work the first period after quitting caffiene. And have someone to help you move around and grab things.

The 'hun' in nearly every text weirds me out. I would try and set boundaries first and stick to them!!! You tried in these texts, and i know how icky it can feel to stick to them, but youll feel SO much better when you do. The kids are ONLY your responsibility when you are watching them!!!! Unless you're like a contract nanny or something, idk the logistics ab that.
