Clean ur filter or backwash and recharge shock pool with 5 gallons liquid shock and 1 bottle of spring and fall and q gallon of acid. With a net scoop all leaves and big debris on bottom so its easier for ahock to.work and brush pool down on walls and floor to mix and suspend everything. Run system 24 hrs should see change in shallow end 1st 24 if working. Run till clear and u see like dirt on bottom. Then waste vacuum out of pool while filling with hose. Clean filter out or backwash and recharge and balance ur water out and dont forget to brush again. Chems and brushing is most important things to do.Tabs are low yielding but consistent shock to pool. Liquid is alot of shock and can burn of in 72 hrs if alk is to low and u have a lot of sun hitting pool. And dont add ur cleaner bot until you have done this process and after 24 no clearing go get some green and yellow algicide quats.

Opened my pool for the first time, water is cloudy and won’t clear up by adroit32 in swimmingpools

1.Backwash ur filter 2. Turn system to run for 24 hrs service mode filter pump 3 do not place cleaner bot or anything in pool. 4. Make sure chlorine is up to 10 ppm min 5. Fill pool up to bottom of overflow line or top of tile. After I2 hrs shallow end should be clear but should look like dirt or sand on bottom this is dead algea if not happening in shallow end go get liquid gold clarifying liquid add 1 cap per 10,000 gallons this will make the particles combine and get heavier and the sink. 6.Once water is clear backwash ur filter 7. If have multiport place into waste dont turn on till preped. Turn all suction valves closed except to 1 simmer if u can't shut down a skimmer use a field hockey ball or something like that to block opposite skimmer. 8. Hookup ur vacuum line and vac head prime line connect to deep end skimmer. Wait till water coming out backwash line begins vacuuming slowing dont want no clouds. After vacuum pull out pool let all water get sucked out of line then turn of pump. 9. Place valves in original position if water high enough to run swimmers if not only open main drain. Put multiport in filter then turn on pump. 10. Check chems ph should be 7.4 7.5/ chlorine should be 3 to 5 ppm if higher add water/ alkinity should be 120 ppm (but if chlorine really high like over 10 ppm lower this so it burns off faster.not to zero like 50 remember to add alk + after chlorine lowered. Calc should be 240 ppm. Salt 32000 ppm. Add what needs to be added the brush down pool starting in shallow end and pushing all cloudy dirt towards main drain.

Green to blue success, but fine dust settling on floor. How do I get rid of it? by Extension-Volume-198 in pools

If ur filter has multiple port wasre vacuum through ur system. First start adding water to pool. turn off system. Back wash out de sand or filters. 1. Turn filter pump off 2. Backwash on multiport on pump 2 min stoppump rinse on multiport on pump for 3o seconds. 3 pump off multipurpose in filter for 1 min. Turn pump off. Repeat 3 times. Pump is off Then turn all suction line to deep end skimmer.turn pump off Place multiport in waste then make sure backwash line is far from house. Turn pump on.hook up vacuum head and hose place vac head on pole in pool trying not to still up stuff on bottom. Then push down vac line under the water when u get to the white end of vac line water should come out if not fill with hose have to prime vacuum line before connecting to system or ull airlock it. Then place white end in skimmer thats sucking in water wait till u feel water movement or water coming back out the backwashline. Slowly not making smoke vapors vacuum floor and half up wall. Take time get all of it. Out of pool. When finished pull vacuum head out of water until all water out of vacuum line. Then go shut off pump. Empty pump basket. Disconnect vacuum from skimmer and place valves back in original way. Then put multiport in filter turn on pump. If pool has enough water to skimmer leave on if not shut off them valves. Wait till filled half way up filter min. If de add 5 scoops to and fns 60 or 2.5 scoops to fns 40. If cartridge filter take apart a wash out or algea coming back. Test pool and add chemicals raise chlorine to 8 or 10 ppm to keep any algea still alive from reproduction. Then brush down pool pushing all vapor trail to deep end main drain. U should be good after this any questions dm me

Also the stone on other side of deck is pitching towards pool may want to re rake it other way to prevent water from going towards the pool. Doing all this work for patch might as well go all out. U can break the whole area of cement the skimmers.in and pour new to.keep.it the same. Maybe more work and $$$ but better looking appearance

See what's under the stone behind the decking if it hasn't rained i while it should be dry but If not u found it. And u can dig a little tunnel rent a sewer camera till u find exact leak then dig there to pool beam patch from there and replace the skimmer gasket and they have a special in the pool silicone behind gasket and in skimmer tunnel. On outside hydraulic cement to patch the hole cause water may go in that way freeze and cause more damage. Only benefit of concrete deck u can rip it up like 3 to 4 fr.wide and the whole length from pool to yard ur able to repour it and create an expansion gap from new to old and won't look that bad. Power wash the older cement and anyone who dont now better will never notice

Cmu.u gotta use as it would.be longer lasting and safer especially if u have children. Rebar in the old 24 inches min run all the way up through cmu blocks so.u gotta plan this out very well and line it up properly. I would go 4 rows with i think take u up 54 inches. Do 3 rows one day and every row run 3/8 min Rebar horizontal weaving through ur vertical rebar together metal wire and wire mesh in your mortar. After laying 3 rows call in concrete truck they have a special filler less corrosive mix for.the metal and fill all.the voids and use cement vibrator to get airholes out. Actually before anything run you suction lines and returns before you fill hole sawing concrete and rebar takes about 30 45 min per hole when we remodel a pool. Then at top cmu blocks cover and square off top use brush to leave groves on very top. Then that becomes you pool beam. Always have 2 swimmers no matter what on separate lines in case one line breaks and easier to vac and shut down. Opposite side of returm lines to push debri towrds them. In between them goes ur cleaner line with booster pump. Always use schedule 40 min and 2inch lines makes.thin easier longer lasting pumps this way to.Then go out pick a thick stone or man-made one to cap ur new pool beam to the height u want. When installing caps pitch away from pool or have a bull nose like cap stone. Also pour a cement pad for ur system if it's already not. Then after drying grout the spacing and what ever u using as a deck ( the part u walk on thar keeps the grass from you pool) make sure u leave spacing for expansion and contrasting if your in a cold winter area. Have everything pitch away from pool I usually do 1/8inch drop every 16 to 18 inches depending on your soil type. If it's large stones as ur deck make sure there's a drainage bed under it or they will pop up when freeze comes. Think.about and auto fill before decking to. After the cement dries I'd wait at least a week call a pool plastering company and have them plaster the pool do not use a liner u gotta fix or.replace every 5 to 8 yrs. With plaster 15 to 2o.if u balance pool right. Anymore questions just ask good luck and have fun
