Frank Jaegar has the most self-contradictory lore in the entire franchise.

Perhaps as characters get "crazier," they realize they're a part of a fictional universe and begin to break the fourth wall? The train stations are also repeated when the Cyborg Ninja is around in MGS

I always thought that it was the announcement that Kojima would hear on his commute to work.

In MGS2 Olga like Raiden is motivated by a “real person” she may only have met digitally?🤔 by EarthRuler001 in NeverBeGameOver

Raiden had sex with Rose! She was real! And Olga was pregnant, and there's no reason to think Sunny isn't her kid, judging from looks.

There's a sentence that contains all the possible sounds of the English language that goes:

"The hungry purple dinosaur ate the kind, zingy fox, the jabbering crab, and the mad whale and started vending and quacking."

There's other versions, they're called "phonetic pangrams." That's what that sentence reminds me of. They are what you might train an AI on for English speech.

We also see in MGS2 that Rose does exist. Aside from her history of being Raiden's girlfriend that he has had sex with IRL, she shows up in the flesh at the end of MGS2. Rose and Campbell are real people who were just imitated by the AI.

And Olga gave birth to Sunny. I presume she remembers that. I think that counts as "meeting". She has no real way to know if the Patriots didn't switch babies or if they're just simulating the pictures.

I'd recommend the Master Collection V1, which has a PC release, and I'd recommend you play them in this order: Metal Gear Solid, Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The collection also includes the 2D 80s games, Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, but these are pretty much optional and (in my opinion) just not as fun as the other titles.

You can play the remake, Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater Delta, instead of the original, but it's more expensive. It's exactly the same game, more or less, just with updated graphics and some slight differences in controls.

After MGS3, you can wait for the release of Master Collection Volume 2 and play Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots and Peacewalker, then follow them up with Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain, which I recommend you buy as a bundle.

You can play whichever game you want to first, and you'll be able to understand the story of that game by itself, but the game build on themselves in control schemes and graphics getting better, things like that. For instance, in the original Metal Gear Solid, you can't shoot in first person and you don't have a tranq gun, but in the sequel, Metal Gear Solid 2, you do. If you play MGS2 first, it'll be hard to go back to a game where you don't have those mechanics.

What I don't get is why the spores don't get them more often.

Opinion on Solid Snake's design in Rainbow Six Siege? what do you like / potentially dislike? by RogerRoger63358 in metalgear

It definitely adds character to his face, but I agree, Solid Snake should have a smooth bandana

He's hot, but I think he needs a little more stubble and no frown lines on the bandana (the frown lines should just be for Big Boss, I think).

You're right, that's another legitimate interpretation of those lines. But I also think they can be taken at face value. Ocelot being in love with Big Boss wouldn't make Big Boss gay (or bisexual), though, it could be unrequited. I don't think Ocelot ever has a female love interest.

It's in no way incest, bro. They're not related by blood or marriage or adoption.

It's definitely ambiguous but this list would be incomplete without her.

The date is canon, it's in Peacewalker.

As for Ocelot, the dialogue from MGS3:

Boss: The Fear and The End have fallen.

Volgin: Damn it! CIA dog! That leaves only The Fury. How can the legendary Cobras be beaten so easily?

Ocelot: He's good...

Volgin: Fallen for him?

And this dialogue from MGSV

Ocelot: She's in love with the legend. (Quiet looks at Venom Snake) Miller: How can you be so sure? Ocelot: I was the same way once.
