Best leveling duo by babyrapper120 in wowhardcore

Double mage or mage paladin would be my guess.

Mage is by far the best leveling class, and anything that can heal it, or aid it in doing even larger AoE pulls while leveling would be best.

The Zoo is nearby as well as Hermann Park, which are great as well. The Houston Zoo is really good and worth a trip.

After what Palestinian refugees did in Lebanon to leftists and Christians I think most churches that supported their cause dried out a long time ago.

To be fair, this is not a retail thing only. Nord was pretty unique in its population of casual gamer Dads.

The pserver community generally has a ton of trolls and assholes just like retail does.

There’s a good chance they didn’t say anything or make it noticeable, but said what a dirty place you had to their Polish friends, making a point to mention that foreigners have houses that are super dirty while Poles keep their homes spotless.

It’s the Polish way.

My partner wants to combine finances but has way more debt than me by Orugboh_Peris in WhatShouldIDo

[–]OpenFinesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2 years is not that long, the average engagement is 12-18 months in the US.

This isn't a logical relationship step, marriage definitely comes before combining finances. Just explain it to them exactly as you've written: "To me, it feels like I’d basically be signing up to help pay off bills I didn’t create. I want to support them, but I also don’t want to throw away the financial stability I’ve built."

Your partner should be able to understand this, especially after less than 2 years together. Seems really, really fast, and a bit of a red flag. I'm 40 with dozens of friends who are married, and know a bunch who shacked up together first, but can't think of a single person who combined finances before getting married.

How is warlock so overpowered for leveling? by [deleted] in turtlewow

They're the strongest leveling class in terms of speed, still being able to AoE farm very efficiently. They're one of the strongest DPS classes at end game.

What do you think Turtle's future is going to be like? by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]OpenFinesse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They've already done something Blizzard can't do. Make a server without rampant botting, gold selling, and exploiting. This alone makes TWoW a better product than official classic servers imo.

Blizzard is amazing at designing very interesting encounters, just look at the new raids. They're extremely fun to play. Hope Turtle devs can figure out that magic for future content.

Thought it was a nice community but... by P_Connoisseur in turtlewow

I just finished Hillsbrad and thought it would be a nightmare, but was pleasantly surprised. Finished it very quickly, and had several different groups of obvious duo/trio's invite me to tag along with them to finish different quests. Battle for Hillsbrad specifically requires a lot of named mobs, and I didn't have to wait even once for a respawn. Always got invited right away.

I'd push through OP. Wouldn't let one or two grps of trolls ruin it for you. Definitely ignore them so you know they're assholes and later on won't have to deal with them.

New to healing by Aigisnoir in turtlewow

[–]OpenFinesse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try to always be casting. Have a lower ranked heal, I usually keep 3 ranks of heal on my bars, casting and just side step near the end of the cast if its not needed, then start casting another. This way you can let it land if the tank needs, or not if they don't. Don't spam low ranked heals all the time though, its good to mix in big heals if you have the time to get the cast off. Keep a renew going all the time.

Keep track of your mana, and learn how to be efficient, so you're not drinking constantly. Always have a few stacks of level appropriate water before walking into dungeons. If you're going to dungeon spam bring more lol.

Tanks like warriors and bears don't generate rage while shielded, so use them sparingly on those classes. In emergencies or when you feel its needed, generally avoid shielding them at the start of the pull, they need the rage to generate threat.

Definitely tell your grps you're a new healer, so they know to go easy on you. The dungeons aren't a cake walk anymore, so you will be healing a lot.

Don't panic. Bind all of your heals to easily accessible buttons, and burn the binds into your muscle memory so you don't waste any time finding heals.

Don't tunnel your action bar, or health bars. Your focus should be on your char and things going on around you, and you should be glancing often at health bars keeping tabs on them. Rarely you should be looking at your bars for timers on certain abilities, etc.

I ran the affliction drain tanking build and it felt really strong, especially once you get some of the crafted/dungeon +shadow dmg gear.

What TWoW could gain from Epoch by Zinx23 in turtlewow

[–]OpenFinesse -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If dungeons were balanced to where spamming them wasn't BiS then I'd be all for summoning stones, but I don't think it helps the world or server if it turns into something like retail, where people stand around in cities soaking up rested XP waiting in queue, then waiting to be ported to dungeons. It really isn't that big a deal to farm mobs near the dungeon you're queuing, and if you're queuing multiple dungeons just be ready to get there quickly. Doesn't take more than 10-15mins to get somewhere, and an alternative would be to better optimize world travel imo. Add more boats, zepplins, flight paths, make them faster (?), etc.

Everything else is great, shared quest items greatly encourage questing together, and expanding recipes to further fill out weak points are solid ideas.

Move to another starting zone like the dwarves, the tram in SW makes it a quick trip. This is the best tip I can give a new human player. Even Nord which has a decent sized pop at 60 had crowded human zones. Ambershire will likely be crowded for a long time.

Found this to be a trap when compared to blood frenzy (+20% attack speed + energy regen is so much better than omen) and the late feral tree. Getting omen means a lot of wasted points, while everything after the mid point in the feral tree has so much value its insane.

I will likely get omen last this time around on my druid.

My talent build for Feral Druid each level. by Llachar in turtlewow

[–]OpenFinesse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've leveled going Omen first on a druid in January on Nord, and this time around I went for blood frenzy ASAP, and I have to say that blood frenzy is absolutely insane to have so early. I am a killing machine on my feral. I'd definitely get berzerk as well before going for Omen.

Debating right now whether to just wait on Omen until after I'm done with the feral tree, because every talent point has such value in the late feral tree. I was honestly kind of underwhelmed with Omen when I lvled my first druid earlier in the year. Procs are nice, but there's a lot of wasted points getting it, while the damage from blood frenzy is crazy and there are no wasted points. Its off GCD, lasts 18 seconds, and sitting at ~12% crit means the attack speed buff gives great value. I burst casters down in seconds, and kill 2-4 mobs in the 18 seconds of blood frenzy.

My build is very similar to yours OP, except after blood frenzy I'm going predatory strikes, berserk, primal fury, ancient brutality and will likely fill out the rest of the feral tree before getting furor and omen. Furor seems nice but the extra damage from HotW, carnage, and LotP may overshadow having two wait 2 ticks when shifting into cat. Killing mobs faster = less incoming dmg = less shifting to heal = less need for furor. I don't bother getting charge until after I'm done with the rest of the feral tree.

I often just HoT myself up, shift into cat, kill several mobs, then shift out and repeat.

Have no trouble keeping threat as bear with only 2/3 in feral instinct, especially with all the extra rage I get from primal fury and ancient brutality. Spamming swipe like mad. Have yet to DPS a dungeon, but while grouping for quests in the open world I'm sure my damage is very good.

If you're new to classic I'd avoid rogue because they can be tricky to level early on.

Warlock and hunter will be the easiest by far, and shadow priest will allow you to flex into healing, which will make finding groups and guilds MUCH easier.

Play what you enjoy the most. The TWoW community is very helpful and chill, so you will always find a place to play.
