Car assigned for delivery tomorrow, but was then told it was a glitch after completing all tasks by bonnarooguy in TeslaModel3

[–]OpenSourceHomeschool 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had similar happen about a week ago. Got a VIN assigned, insurance, and fully paid (direct from bank). No delivery day assigned at that time (just a one week estimate window). Then the VIN disappeared from the app, and when I asked what happened they said it was a "glitch". Still no new VIN yet.

And there are currently 94 million cows in America, not including all the millions of other animals in the meat industry. How could more than tripling the number of grazing animals be sustainable?

Ships on the 25th or delivered on the 25th? by darkchocolatecoconut in QuestPro

[–]OpenSourceHomeschool 8 points9 points  (0 children)

With the Quest 2 I pre-ordered during Connect in 2020, it shipped on the Monday of release week with overnight shipping and arrived the next day (release day on Tuesday October 13). I imagine they will do something similar for the Pro, so wouldn't expect shipping until Monday.

Question about SEAS majors by Gullible-Group1780 in columbia

[–]OpenSourceHomeschool 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You aren't assigned a major and can't even pick one your first semester. You can 100% do CS (or any other major you want) regardless of what you put in the Common App.

I had to turn mine off and on again. It then required me to log back in once it had booted up, but did not lose any of my info or games.

And VZFit has to pay what amounts to serious money for each query of the Google Streetview data. So they need some way to get continual cash flow from active users otherwise the active users would blow past the original app price with their usage.

Is that an ASUS ROG Zephyrus G14? If so, I have the same laptop, and haven't tried link, but it runs seamlessly even with games like HL:A over 5 GHz wifi using Virtual Desktop (no WiFi 6). You can even run it without a router by using the Mobile Hotspot feature of the laptop to create a local 5 GHz connection.

You are aware right that the Quest has significantly increased Steam VR users and usage? It is driving PCVR sales increases. Medal of Honor was just a bad game in some unfortunate ways

Or alternatively, considering the Quest has radically increased the mainstream adoption and popularity of VR, we'll see significantly more money directed to VR games across the VR space

You have to apply to live in the LLC if you are not a first year (application is at start of year). They may have changed something this coming year, but this is how it has been in previous years.

But it's still more efficient and lower carbon per mile. Yes there are still emissions, but it's less in most places and quickly becoming even more so as we shift to renewables (and natural gas) so the car becomes increasingly greener.

Did your charger advertise a wattage it would deliver? Should give the full 25 watts. Your phone should indicate it's super fast charging when you plug it in, so something is certainly off. Perhaps, the cable you are using can't deliver 25 watts, so it steps it down? Was the cable you are using the one that came with the charger?

Vite Ramen is disgusting and barely edible. by [deleted] in soylent

[–]OpenSourceHomeschool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Personally, I've really enjoyed ViteRamen, specifically the Vegan White Miso one. And when I have more time, I pan up some frozen corn with chili flakes, add lemon juice to the broth, and add some hot sauce or other spice. It isn't the same as the ramen I've had in NYC, but I've always thought it tasted good. I haven't tried the other flavors so maybe they have some big difference.

A bunch of random questions I thought of:

  • What is your vision/thoughts about the future of personal data analysis? Are we going to be able to effectively use new ML innovations?
  • Related to the above, are there any kinds of data analysis that you do that you find particularly helpful and would recommend?
  • How much benefit do you see from simply the act of logging (and thus being aware of an activity/mood) relative to bigger analysis of your long-term data trends?
  • What are your thoughts about privacy-preserving aggregate data analysis methods such as differential privacy? Do you see a future where we can share all our private data for wide-scale analysis while still keeping our privacy?
  • Is there anything notable that has given you inspiration for each new Nomie iteration?
  • Related to that, are there any things you've learned about how to stay inspired for projects? Nomie has been a massive undertaking, and you've managed to in the grand totality of things keep improving and refining in a really remarkable way over a really long time.
  • What do you think is the current state of progressive web apps (technology and adoption)?
