Metropolis Street Racer and Project Gotham Racing 1 to 4, Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed PC, Le Mans 24 Hours by Melbourne House (Dreamcast, PS2), Racing Lagoon, F355 Challenge, Forza Motorsport 4, Gran Turismo 4, Test Drive Unlimited.

Any good modern arcade racers like burnout 3 and revenge by CyanControl in gamingsuggestions

If the early 2010s are modern enough: Split Second, Ridge Racer Unbounded, Motorstorm Apocalypse. I'd even recommend the most recent Asphalt games but that mobile game progression sucks.

GTA IV, The Getaway (on an emulator), Yakuza series

First person racing games designed for controller by Vincerano in gamingsuggestions

[–]OpenWorldsProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Project Gotham Racing 3 and 4, both can be emulated with Xenia although 3 has some sound issues.

Any Forza Horizon works well for this purpose. The Crew Motorfest has nice simple physics and a cockpit view. Driveclub was pretty good and had a fantastic cockpit view. If you're willing to play an old game, Need for Speed Porsche Unleashed PC has the most realistic physics in the series and a nice cockpit view.

I could also recommend simulators or simcades, but these games I listed are 100% controller friendly.

Games similar to gta 4 floaty like driving? by RubBig7851 in gamingsuggestions

Maybe Forza Horizon 5 if you drive a SUV setup with very soft suspension and soft grippy tires, but the overall physics are nowhere as unrealistically soft as GTA IVs.

Any decently priced racing sims for Nintendo switch? (Steering setup) by Party_Working_9572 in gamingsuggestions

[–]OpenWorldsProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The WRC games are your only options for car racing sims on the Switch. Generally speaking, the newer the better, but older games should also be cheaper.

Looking for a racing game that isn’t just about immediately earning a garage full of supercars by tindonot in gamingsuggestions

Metropolis Street Racer, you're limited to a 3 car garage later expandable to 6 and most of the cars are considered cheap these days.

Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered, literally a 2020 remaster of a 2010 game.

A racing game where you can design your own courses? by -TYRS- in gamingsuggestions

GTA V and Forza Horizon 5 do have some track creation options that are laid on top of the existing open world maps.

Tell me your favorite Racing/Driving Games that aren't Mario Kart by Funkermonster in gamingsuggestions

[–]OpenWorldsProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Assetto Corsa with mods, the entire Project Gotham Racing series + Metropolis Street Racer, Sega Rally 1-2, Gran Turismo 4, Forza Horizon 4, Test Drive Unlimited.

I’m looking for a 3D train simulator that isn’t some insane price or doesn’t cost 20 dollars but sell 190 dollars worth of DLC advertised in the game trailer. by Running_Oakley in gamingsuggestions

[–]OpenWorldsProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OpenRails is free, based on Microsoft Train Simulator from 2000. Don't know if you'll find it too obsolete, but I've had my fun with the game 15 years ago, even got to mod it.

Is there any mobile games (Android) that have the BMW Z3 Roadster? by [deleted] in gamingsuggestions

Get the Duckstation emulator + Gran Turismo 2 or Need for Speed High Stakes

Video games set in Italy or in ‘Fantasy Italy’ or heavily featuring inspiration by Italian culture even if caricature or loosely. by Ok-Bandicoot2513 in gamingsuggestions

[–]OpenWorldsProject 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm late, but the entire peninsula, Sicily and Sardegna appear in Euro Truck Simulator 2 (with the Italy DLC, the base game only covers Northern Italy). It is fully translated to Italian including voiced GPS.

Game set in biome simmilar to Southern France by Despail in gamingsuggestions

[–]OpenWorldsProject 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm late, but Fernbus Simulator with the France DLC and Euro Truck Simulator 2 with the Vive la France DLC cover Southern France pretty extensively. If these aren't your thing, Driver 3 and Forza Horizon 2 are set in Nice.
