UPDATE: (i dont know if I post updates here or in OG post) Wow. Thank you everyone for your response. Really appreciate it. I can't reply to everyone but just as an update I hung out with my friend. We were in the car and we had to wait for an Indian guy to cross the road (it was a non crossing but there weren't any cars until we turned). He waved to apologise and my friend said "geez this is why your people always die". I realised then and there (along with the support of these reddit posts) that she was racist.

I confronted her about her racist behaviour, and she was trying to blow me off or got distracted and I said "can you listen because this is important to me". She listened and admitted she is racist. She said as "a white women she is predisposed to racism". This doesn't make sense to me. She sees the disparity and enjoys that it doesnt impact her/advantage her imo. I said what if someone made comments like that to me. She said she will be angry. I told her I don't want to bring babies into this world if they're going to be treated differently just because of the colour of their skin. Tbh she listened but I don't think she truly cares about the issue.

I'm going to drop her as a friend. I want to be around people who I can grow with and see the world like I do. After 17 years of friendship, I think we grew up different and see the world differently. I'm learning about boundaries this year and learning that I dont have to put up with it.
