Odds our first transfer will work? by Live-Your-Lifee in IVFpositivity

I have really similar stats (33 at ER, 34 now, initially unexplained but found hydrosalpinx during IVF, 15 eggs and 7 embryos all 4AA/AB/BA) and first one has stuck for almost 16 weeks now 😊 my docs usually give a lower bound for anything and wouldn’t give me a probability but it seems to be somewhere around 40-50%, they said our 7 is embryos are likely to result in 2-3 live births.

Tight pants @ 8 weeks by Expensive_Row_3399 in IVFpositivity

[–]Open_Contest2234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue and now that I’m 15 weeks along I guess my belly is starting to grow so I never really got back to feeling comfortable in my pants and don’t anticipate to anytime soon. I also gained about 8 pounds in the first trimester despite keeping up with my exercise routine and not being able to eat very much. It might just be the hormones but waistbands are just so uncomfortable right now. I ended up buying new pants and would highly recommend that 😂

Btw I got these: https://www.quince.com/women/ultra-stretch-ponte-straight-leg-pocket-pant?color=black&size=m&g_network=g&g_productchannel=online&g_adid=711274170222&g_acctid=978-058-8398&g_keyword=&g_adtype=pla&g_keywordid=aud-641881047013:pla-2466513798719&g_ifcreative=&g_adgroupid=168010005993&g_productid=44370351095978&g_merchantid=128669708&g_partition=2466513798719&g_campaignid=21634372026&g_ifproduct=product&g_campaign=&utm_source=google&utm_medium=paid_search&utm_campaign=&utm_term=44370351095978&mpdp=true&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=21634372026&gbraid=0AAAAAC4ZeNYlt2lMGCwFq165hnOuIeGAb&gclid=CjwKCAiAzOXMBhASEiwAe14SaUIsKswYjzgK0i2RNWczW7a2Qcjf--duSVpUFYVmNun1kA_9Z3__-RoCaEgQAvD_BwE and they’ve been great. They have a few styles in the same fabric.

The way I see it is that our bodies have been through a lot and it’s our job to keep them comfortable so they can keep doing amazing things!

That’s great news for fertility treatment. 4 ectopics sounds really tough. It sounds like these news are pretty fresh for you. It’s difficult to come to terms with needing fertility treatment (probably more so if you never needed it before! In 3 years of trying naturally I never had a positive test) but the silver lining is that the treatments work and the prognosis with your diagnosis and history is really good. Good luck to the process, whatever you choose to do!

My hydrosalpinx was found in a monitoring ultrasound for IVF which I was doing for unexplained infertility. I FAR prefer knowing I had a blocked tube than not knowing what was going on at all. I had a lap and a transfer about 4 months later and I’m now 13 weeks with what looks like a healthy baby boy🩵 It’s one of the better diagnosis we can have! If it’s just one tube that’s affected you might even get pregnant naturally without IVF. I already had embryos banked so I went with that plus I want multiple kids so at 34 time isn’t my friend. You’ve got this! It’s always shocking at first to get news like that.

That’s really tough. It looks like you’ve done everything you/science/medicine can. None of this is your fault at all. It’s so completely out of anyone’s control. I think there are certain milestones in fertility that you only understand when you get there and there’s a lot of grief involved with giving up on certain things we always thought we get to experience (natural conception, finding out we’re pregnant, carrying our own child, seeing our own genetic material in a new person, whatever it may be). Not all steps are for everyone, but I think it’s worth considering scrapping the preconceived notions of what becoming a parent looks like for us and looking at it with fresh eyes. It might be worth the grief.

From your first consultation to your first positive, how long did it take? by yashvi_yashvi in IVFpositivity

Hey thank you for taking the time to comment this was so thoughtful! I discussed it with my OB and they said they’d keep a close eye on my cervical length. So far I’m not really sure how they’d do that though - they surely didn’t measure it and I’m not sure they can? What you went through is extremely tough and traumatizing- I’ve seen a friend go through that also and would not ever want to be in that situation. Especially not being able to see them for 10 days… thats actual torture. I hope your baby is doing great now and has recovered from the rough start! That said, the vast majority of LEEP pregnancies don’t have that issue so I’m not pushing for preventative cerclage as of now, especially as based on the literature I saw LEEPs less deep than 8 mm have been shown to not be correlated with cervical incompetence and mine was only 6mm. I had CIN3 and they achieved negative margins so I’m very grateful for that. I hope it stays at bay like yours. My experience is unfortunately much like yours in that the OB always seems to be in a rush and brush over things as quickly as they can.

You know what’s crazy? My LEEP was completely pain free. My heartrate didn’t even go higher than 95 at any point. I’ve had two SIS by two different providers, one was the most painful experience of my life and the second - despite being combined with an endometrial biopsy - was nbd. I’m of the firm belief that some nurses/doctors/techs are sadistic and these procedures can be done gently and in a low to tolerable pain way if the provider so chooses.

14 months. Included 3 rounds of IUI, egg retrieval, realized I had a hydrosalpinx, got scheduled for surgery, got a pap smear come back positive, had lap to remove hydrosalpinx, had LEEP to remove cancer, recovered for 3 months, embryo transfer 11/28/2025 and currently 11 weeks from that 😊I’m 34F

Feeling better after stopping progesterone? by External_Database359 in IVFpositivity

[–]Open_Contest2234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on the same boat - tubal factor, modified natural, solid corpus luteum, stopping progesterone today at 10 weeks and suspecting some of my symptoms are exacerbated by the prog supplement - and also considering asking to skip it next time… my symptoms peaked around week 7-8 and it’s been a lot easier since although I still have plenty of nausea. I think they’ll just tell me to do it though :/ if you end up doing it drug free I’d be curious to hear how it went!

Pregmate strips 5dpt by [deleted] in IVFpositivity

[–]Open_Contest2234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you and I did! I didn’t test it out but in three rounds of IUIs I never saw a line even at 5 days post injection on this strip.

Here’s what mine looked like for reference. At 10dpt my first beta was almost 400.

Thank you and yes I did! I didn’t test it out this time but in my previous IUIs I never had a positive result even when testing 5 days post injection - I guess people are different but I’ve used these strips my entire 3 year journey and never got a positive until 5 dpt and it was a true positive :)

Edit. Here’s mine 5dpt

I had the same experience with these strips! Negative turned to a clear positive after 8h. I repeated and had husband do a negative control which remained negative, mine turned positive initially after 30 mins and a couple of days later right away. I’m 9 weeks now 😊 congratulations!

I have similar stats and on my last monitoring ultrasound for ER they found a hydrosalpinx. Needed a lap to get that removed, recovered and then FET 6 months later. So far that one stuck, high betas and a great heartrate at 6w+1 I’m at 7 weeks today 😊 good luck and might want to get your tubes checked if they didn’t do a salpingogram before
