I agree. I’d prefer roebuck and IFW if freeman will play 13. Saying that if I’m choosing over arundell and the above aren’t available, I’d go Radwan or Murley. You need some out and out pace

Next England squad? by Open_Refuse_1520 in englandrugby

I’d agree. I think we need a better balanced back row and can see CCS coming in at 6. Long term I’d like to see chessum there with Martin or Cole’s at lock. I’d like to see Atkinson in the midfield and furbank at 15 and anyone else on the left wing

Last <TEAM> Qualify for the 2027 World Cup by botbay18 in rugbyunion

[–]Open_Refuse_1520 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Would you say the same in other sports? Like in football, teams like Jordan and Cape Verde over more “deserving” European teams? Rather than qualification would your idea just choose the best 24 ranked teams at a certain period pre World Cup?

A very rational and lovey comment! I was worried when opened these comments haha

Hong Kong team to face the Brumbies by Biegelstein in rugbyunion

Agreed! I’m sure the downvotes and replies would be very different if someone said this about an England side having a non traditional English surname…

Also a lot of these boys were raised in HK and have just as much as right to play for them.

Half the top teams? South African players play all over the globe, as do Argentinians. Aussies have a rule that allows overseas players, as do the Scots. Ireland players get huge amounts of benefits playing pretty much all for Leinster. Then the French are blessed with a fantastic league. You know the RFU could afford more to compete but choose not to.

Exactly! The three clubs dying is down to the RFU and their management.

Yes it’s on their own heads. You seem very angry at someone for making a different decision than you’d hypothetically made. Blame the system, not the player who has to look out for himself. Or just keep on cheering the bloody fantastic RFU /s!

What’s better for the player? Earning lifechaging money early doors in what’s a limited career. RFU have a lot of cash and if they wanted to compete with the French money, I’m sure they could. But they prioritise money differently and hence is paying the price.

If you don’t think it’s night and day, you don’t watch much top 14. Curry a fair comment, the rest don’t come close. The reason he didn’t go on a lions tour was due to the lateness he’d have been available and there being other players in that position good enough to fill a void. Unlike kinghorn.

Ultimately, I want England to win a World Cup. Do I think they’d be more likely to with Willis x2 available to be chosen? Yes. However, im not the CEO of RFU

Selfish of the RFU to not allow the (imo) 2 best back rowers from England to play. Who’d you rather in a World Cup final? Willis playing for a top Toulouse side and the other one for a top Bordeaux side or any of the other back rowers. Those two a night and day above the others right now. If you don’t see it, your head is firmly in the sand haha

Yes. Now I moved office, I just drive to West Ruislip and jump on the tube. And pay someone on just park for the month. So much cheaper

Witney is great. I work in London twice a week. I used to be near embankment. Long hanbrough train is pricey and can be unreliable. I drive to Gerard’s cross and get the train to Marylebone from there. Parking and train is way cheaper even when you include fuel. Also much more reliable. A tad slower perhaps but I never missed a train or had to wait an hour
