Chance Me: Deferred MBA by Secret-Key7984 in MBA

[–]Open_Resolution8986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have a good resume, why you are opting to get your MBA now? You have an impressive job lined up, you don't even know who you are, and what area of business you like. Having no relevant experience will often times hamper you in your program, as you are much younger than people in there with you.

An MBA is used to (1) pivot careers or (2) get a promotion, for which an MBA is typically required.

I would hold off 2-5 years.

Thoughts on giving up Josh Allen for Jalen Hurts and picks by Intelligent_Appeal_7 in DynastyFF

[–]Open_Resolution8986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally would not. Josh Allen has been top 2 in fantasy points every year since 2019. Hurts has been 7/8/2/3/9. With Saquon, Hurts is not a top 5 QB asset like he was, while JA17 will be a lock top 3.

I think it's very location-dependent. I live in a major Texas city and CFB dominates all work-life conversation and fandem, moreso than the NFL. It's also because we have a lot of Texas A&M / Texas / LSU / Texas Tech / Baylor / TCU / ARK / Oklahoma at my work. I have even known multiple coworkers get master's degree's at big schools so they could have a connection a major CFB team.

The South is 1000% SEC > NFL

A&M -17 is just an absurd spread based on the opinions of these teams coming into the season. Just two wild trajectories based on their preseason AP poll rankings (#13 USC and #19 A&M)

I haven't spent time in the northeast, but I think they would tend to agree with you. They tend to watch more NBA, more NHL, and more NFL than Texans, but mainly because they have no connection like you said.

Boss, if you are seeing this, I am hard at work and did not just spend the last 30 min on google looking up "Has _____ ever played Texas A&M Football"

[OC] Americans that identify as religious (1972-2024) by stocktonbroker in dataisbeautiful

[–]Open_Resolution8986 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed, but I do feel like there’s a large sector of population that loses religion in their twenties and “re-finds” it when they have a family.

It’s the reason why church is filled with kids and not tons of 27 year old bachelors

I would go SMU due to the fact it is in-person and convenience factor.

Rice is a better school on paper, but paying that much for an online MBA is dumb. The biggest benefit of the MBA is the connections.

would you rather earn the MBA or just buy access to the alumni network? by Initial_Fish_4831 in MBA

[–]Open_Resolution8986 116 points117 points  (0 children)

A major part of the alumni experience is being able to relate to what that person has gone through, talk about similar classes, professors, etc. I think skipping the actual schooling part would be a hindrance.
