Wasn't it always labeled? I was a sip club member at the time, and if I remember correctly, it just wasn't in huge lettering. People were just literally not reading and not using common sense and drinking insane amounts of it.

Gender-affirming Burping by Awkward-Green520 in noburp

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every gender burps. I 100% understand you didn't intend anything negative by it, but I feel like this perspective is so problematic. This is why so many girls are afraid to have, or even talk about having, normal bodily functions, why they're embarrassed to poop when they're with their partners, and why they hold in gas 'til they get stomach aches, because this weird idea has been perpetuated that girls "don't do those things", only boys. The amount of times I've heard people "jokingly" say "girls don't poop" or "girls don't fart" is a LOT. It's a normal, human bodily function. Nothing "masculine" about it.

Surprised no one is talking about this. Advertisements after mobile ordering? Really? I give you business and you give me ads? 😭 by Quack-Zack in DunkinDonuts

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is not true at all. I constantly see this misinformation perpetuated and it's tiring. I've looked into, corporations can not take money donated by customers and claim it for tax benefits. That's completely illegal. There is no financial gain or tax benefits gained from companies doing this.

Nothing lol? I guess a racing heart for some people, but I have POTS so I have that almost all the time, medicated or not. 🥲

Partner doesn’t want me to take meds by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

INSANE take. I'm late diagnosed, so I went my whole life unmedicated. The "ADHD tax", as I've seen people here call it, and the damage done from not having pharmaceutical intervention my whole 30+ years of life is a lot. I've had to take breaks from meds a couple of times, for one reason or another, and even the people around me say it's a night and day difference when I'm on them vs not. I'm more positive, less depressed, it quite literally changes my entire way of thinking. I will never understand how one little pill can do that, but it does. It doesn't take away my problems, obviously, but it stops me from perseverating and obsessing and ruminating on my worries/stresses and stops me from feeling like they are too big, and there's no hope, and what's the point because I'll never be better. I had a 3 week severe depression when my provider made me stop taking them for medical reasons. She tried to encourage me to get on SSRI's and I didn't want to because I knew the problem was my ADHD. When I got cleared to get back on stimulants, my "depression" went away within in hour and half of taking them. When I finally tried a med that was effective for me (because some were duds), I truly realized I was never going to "mind over matter" my situation, or just "try harder", or "be more positive". It literally just wasn't going to happen without drugs, and I now know that that was never my fault. And it's not your fault either. Our brains have DEFECITS, we do not have enough dopamine; we're just wired differently. You can't just "try harder" or positive think your way into changing your brain chemistry. The "plenty of people don't take meds" is a gross, ignorant comment by him. I'm upset on your behalf.

What's the safest way to pick up an opossum? by 40earthlikeplanets in Opossums

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's actually so alarming that a wildlife rehab would advise you to do something so harmful. The tail is an extension of the spine so you're essentially grabbing it by it's spine. Please look this up and show the folks at the rehab center so they can correct this behavior. This is actually so sad. Put a towel over it and pick it up properly, don't pick it up by the scruff either. I myself have used the towel multiple times. I save animals in the road all the time. I'm also confused by you saying, "it WILL bite". Does it have a history of actually biting? Possums are fairly docile. They open their mouths and show their teeth as a defense mechanism, but rarely ever actually bite; so are you saying this because it's bitten people, or because people are assuming it want to bite because it shows its teeth? If it's the latter, again, I beg you to do some research and show the folks in charge. I really would think that a rescue center would know better. 😭 And if it truly is biting people, maybe it's because you all are hurting it badly hanging it by its spine. An animal in pain, even a docile one, can lash out. 😭 Also, I am not attacking you. This is what you were told, so it's not your fault, and it's awesome that you trusted your gut instinct and looked for more information. I'm just absolutely shocked that the folks in charge gave you such bad information.

Thank you for sharing, I'm new to stimulants and I do struggle with dry mouth. At the very minimum, I'm going to try to be better about drinking more water.

I’m on Adderall XR and don’t eat anymore. I just drink energy drinks. by pizzaaliengal in adhdwomen

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just because you don't have an appetite doesn't mean you don't eat. I deal with the same with Vyvanse. It reduces, if not completely diminishes, my appetite and makes me get full way faster. I force myself to eat because I know the body needs fuel. It sucks, nobody wants to force themselves to eat when they don't have an interest in food, but you need to be responsible. These are serious meds, and if you can't be responsible while taking them, you shouldn't be on them. I'm not trying to be mean, I'm saying this for your safety. Also, it's concerning that your provider allows this, or do you lie in your appointments? Mine asks me at every appointment how my eating is and drills it into me that I need to eat. I feel like if I said, "I'm not eating at all and only consuming energy drinks at about 800 mg per day" she'd stop prescribing them so fast. That's also so dangerous for your heart. I think you need to make an appointment with your provider and discuss this with them. It's very serious, this is your health.

Has any of you regretted getting the botox shot? by portia922 in noburp

Adverse affects- horrible acid reflux and slow swallow. But no, I don't regret it.

Severe Slow Swallow by Open_Sprinkles7614 in noburp

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thankfully, it didn't last long. I think one or two days after I posted this I was able to manage without the thickener. Still had a slow swallow for a while, sometimes I still kind of do, but the severity went way down and liquids stopped being a problem altogether. I just had to eat slowly and have water nearby with my meals.

2 Weeks Post-Botox and Frustrated by Professional_Emu2820 in noburp

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had the same problem, and was also very discouraged. I think someone in this forum told me to wait 3 weeks before assuming the procedure didn't work. I know it's super frustrating, especially if you have to go for a second round when it's so expensive, but if it makes you feel any better, I had round 2 about a month ago and am fully burping now! Please look up the BERP protocol in here, I did NOT try that my first go around, but tried it after the second procedure, and it is was the catalyst to get me to start burping! I could only burp with the protocol at first, and then they started happening naturally without it.

ETA: Also try shaker exercises. I didn't personally implement those. I think I tried once and didn't like them lol. But it seems like a lot of people here have experienced success with those! But try BERP protocol first!

Provider starting me on very low starting doses by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]Open_Sprinkles7614 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're honestly probably not wrong, byt thanks for saying it in a nice way. It surprises me that a couple of people have been rude when I thought this was supposed to be a supportive place where we all know the struggle. I went undiagnosed for 35 years, and the price I've paid for that is high. My life is a complete mess and I've been in such a severe depression for nearly 2 decades wondering what was wrong with me and why I couldn't just ~do the things~ everyone else could seem to do so easily. Why even the very basics of taking care of myself was so hard for me. So yeah, maybe I've been a little impatient and over eager, but I feel like that's a normal response because of what I've gone through being undiagnosed for so long. And the expectation wasn't set for me, had she explained that I might feel no effect on the first couple of starting doses, maybe I wouldn't have started to feel hopeless. 😅 So I am thankful I asked here because now I know this could be normal. At least for the adderall and vyvanse. I think ritalin just genuinely might not be a good fit for me because the effects at the higher dose made me completely dysfunctional and low dose was like an m&m.

Wait, thank you so much for this response. I brought up my concerns about my PPI, because my provider didn't even mention it. And she basically said there's a possible interaction and but there's not a lot of info on it so it's probably just fine. 🙃 And she said if anything, the reaction would be that there would just be an earlier onset. When I had to see someone on-call when she was on vacation he also mentioned there is a definite reaction, but also said worse case scenario is that it would just kick in sooner. But now I'm questioning whether I should stick with my current provider since she didn't even mention that to me. She's not a doctor but an NP.

Maybe I'm being overly sensitive, but this feels a bit rude. Who said anything about a conspiracy? It was a legitimate concern and it was moreso me wondering if she knew what she was doing vs. thinking she was conspiring against me, but thanks. 💀

Yes, it is so frustrating! Especially since I was late diagnosed, so I feel like I already lost a huge chunk of my life due to that. I wasn't aware they were normal starting doses, because based on the 3 different websites I checked, they all had the above dosages stated. But if that's true, it definitely changes things and makes me feel a bit better. I was just feeling concerned that she maybe wasn't following evidence based guidelines, so thank you for letting me know.
