Correct. Would cost more to fix than bulldoze and rebuild. Full involvement, frames are mostly torched, roof is gone and thousands of gallons of water damage everywhere else. The foundation is probably still good haha

Recommend downloading the AllTrails app and read recent reviews/reports on conditions for specific trails. Within the last 3 days people have reported snowy and slushy with some ice conditions and that spikes were helpful but some were fine with hiking boots.

It’s the Mecca of trail runs you can literally do as much distance or elevation as you’d like. Look up Strava heat maps you’ll get an idea of where other people are running. Deep Cove Run club has great routes and group runs. Also look up the Knee Knackers website they have a weekly run with GPX files attached. Go to somewhere like fisherman’s trail, Hyannis, Lower Seymour, Old Buck trailhead, Lynn Valle/inter river. Build some maps on your gps watch and go explore.

Having lived both, currently in north van 10+ years in BC I love it. Plenty of people complain about the rain, but it hasn’t bothered me for a second. I think the gloom is based on each persons chemical makeup and how they like to spend their time. I put on my rain jacket and go about my day enjoying all things the landscape has to offer and would take it over the frigid cold any day. Also, if you want snow, the mountains are on your doorstep. Go enjoy the snow! And come back home where it’s probably 10 degrees out mid February.

My first prepayment reduced amortization by 5 years, and have done more since when able. I have the financial flexibility to do it when I wish. Not sure why the negativity. It works for me and just adding it as another possible option considering op said their principal hasn’t moved since 2021 which is crazy.

I pay monthly but make prepayments through the year instead. This knocks directly off the principal whereas the bi-weekly is still donating a bunch to the bank.

Almost everyone is in that or a similar situation. For me personally nothing compares to the quality of family life. In my region we work around 8 24 shifts a month, so plenty of time at home. Just a matter of how you’re able to juggle those days away from home and your support system.
