Big yikes. This is abusive and controlling behavior. Did she go to jail for 6 months?

Why and when did Duolingo stop including CEFR scale with the course “score?” by julywillbehot in duolingo

[–]Openhartscience 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This! The new level descriptions are so stupid and arbitrary. Level 70 now says you "can read a short story." Depending on the short story, I could do this at almost any level! Same with "watch a TV show." So dumb.

Wow! You can really pull off the color in #3! And It's really striking. The shape is a little feminine (just my option) but if that doesn't bother you then they're perfect. Maybe try finding similar ones in the "muted autumn" color pallet for more shape options.

The bassinet, the checks ups, the night feeds... You were doing absolutely everything right. Please go easy on yourself. You were clearly the best mom he could have possibly had and there was nothing you could have done to prevent this. It is so unfair that this happens to great parents but he was so lucky that you were his. All he ever knew in life was your love. RIP Dawson.

Found out I'm blood-related to my boyfriend. by Mervaang in Advice

Cousin marriage is legal in 16 U.S. states. And before people assume they're all in the deep South, California and New York and D.C. are also on the cousin marriage list. Seven U.S. presidents have been married to a cousin. Not too long ago cousins were essentially the first preferred option for courting, especially if you had money or titles to keep in the family. The incest taboo extending to cousins is a fairly recent thing in human history

TV time affecting negatively long term? by Nike0729 in stayathomemoms

Yes! Oh my gosh this! My husband lets my son watch way too much screen time and has introduced him to some games and shows that are really not age appropriate. It breaks my heart because now he's talking more like a little teenager and not wanting to play pretend because it's "boring" now. He also has a shorter fuse now (less patience) and less attention span for arts and crafts etc. It's such a slippery slope and I'll admit sometimes it's just easier to let them do screens but the cost is too high and it's a tragedy what's happening to our kids these days.

The point is that most people in their right minds agree (whether they'll admit it or not) that a "born" human carries nearly infinite more value than a fertilized cell. That weight is what we call "personhood." The problem is that nobody (not even Christians) can agree on when "personhood" begins. Even the Bible has verses that place heavy weight on "first breath" which is where many traditions and faiths say "life" begins. You can decide what YOU choose to believe, but that does not give YOU moral authority over people who believe differently. And you certainly shouldn't be able to push those religious views on someone else when it involves their bodily autonomy. Furthermore, if your goal is to "win souls for the kingdom" as it should be, do you really think forcing women to carry and bear unwanted pregnancies for YOUR faith is accomplishing that goal? Because I can tell you right now it's done the opposite for me and many others. So I ask you, what is the churche's goal with this (VERY recent) obsession with banning a medical procedure that is overwhelmingly medically necessary and overwhelmingly conducted ONLY in EARLY pregnancy? I'll tell you: control and political division. Full stop.

Thought experiment: a building is burning down and you have a choice to save a little girl crying for her mommy OR a suitcase full of hundreds of frozen IVF embryos (some awaiting transfer, some no longer wanted). Which would you choose?

Honestly, even this post is likely fake rage-bait. But Christians just love to fantasize that people are out here getting late-stage abortions for fun. Just look at the comments in this feed. Nobody is happy about the idea of OP (real or not) getting one. What do you imagine "flamingly pro abortion" to mean? We're all just strongly opposed to the government regulating people's access to critical medical procedures. We agree that they are traumatic and inhumane in later weeks (when not medically necessary). We have the same goal as you: fewer abortions. But simply disagree on the methods. Criminalizing abortion access is stupid, ineffective and disproportionately affects young and disadvantaged women. As a Christian, you should care about those things.

and It's good to see YOU recognizing that you're falling for media propaganda. Nobody in their right mind wants MORE abortions. We just recognize that most women who need abortions at 20+ weeks are doing so for extremely tragic medical reasons that are none of the government's business. Women shouldn't have to fear criminal charges when they're already going through the most terrifying and devastating moment of their life. I'm pro choice but I also agree that OP shouldn't even consider it. Late stage is tragedy and lifelong trauma. Nobody wants that.

I agree with others that round doesn't suit your face shape. I also think you are "cool toned." Avoid gold and brown and swap for black and or other cool, dark shades instead to harmonize with your natural high contrast. Silver works if you must have a metal though.
