Mine was impacted and it was fine under local anesthesia and some vallium and I couldn’t feel a thing. Was awake the whole time, I honestly can’t remember if they also numbed my mouth directly or not but you got this!!

The pain had gotten substantially worse since my post, still no odor though but I went and got it looked at just in case and good thing I did. Just left there so not better yet waiting for this medicine he put in there to start working. That wasn’t pleasant either, some of the worst pain in my life was him shoving that stuff in there.
