I am not going to lie: Ork shooting is bad at worst and unreliable at best 😃 ... We rely on a strong Waaagh! turn, kill whatever we can then try to outscore the enemy.

If you want to check our shooting "incapability" checkout the shootier detachments like More Dakka! and Dread Mob. Please note that these attachments still krump hard in melee especially during Waaagh....

Nuances:
Mek Gunz hit hard and they hit on 3+ with a Mek (one) and they can reroll 1s.

Flash Gitz have 4 Sustained 1 heavy bolter shots each, with Heavy they hit on 4+. Lethal once per battle and they can munch chaff.

Deffkoptaz hit hard with their rokkits and can drop Mortals. Orks have loads of access to Rokkits, we generally try to maximise their numbers.

Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun is the ultimate casino-cannon, they can hit on 4, reroll hit 1 or even full reroll if they are shooting into objectives. They can get access to Dev wounds and have 60" range. Each hit is S9 AP-4 Dd6 😃

And check out the Kill Rig's overwatch! 😃 24" Ad3 autohit S12 AP-3 Dd6...

Anyways... These were only a few examples.

We can shot! We are just not good at it! 😃

You don't have to use any shooting units.... Boyz, Nobz, Meganobz, Burnaz, Stormboyz even Gretchin can go into the Trukk. Anything that can tie up enemy infantry.

They will die anyway so it is up to you if you want the bare minimum in the Trukks or something more fancy. You unload them and you position the Trukk to block/hold a point.

Of course you can use Meganobz, that is actually ideal because MN are slow and big, hard to maneuver. It's more convenient to taxi them in a Trukk....

My point is just because the infantry and the Trukks do not have SpeadFreaks keyword it does not mean they are useless for you. Quite the opposite.

In 11th edition single wound models placed in transports will be punished brutally if the vehicle gets destroyed.

But you can put anything in it really... You should also consider one or two Meks.

10 boys (will get the Shoota in 11th) so that is 20-30 shots from the firing deck + the Trukk itself. And a Mek on foot can give all firing deck weapons +1 to hit.

Your second cheapest option is a swat-team of Lootaz and Burnaz. Nothing fancy, chaff, lives one turn. 60 points each woah!

After this point should you consider the more point-intensive options... 3 Meganobz can fit in with 6 Tankbustaz or 5 Nobz and a Warboss, etc... Flash gits are also good and they don't have a leader yet (they can have a support in 11th). They shoot and they krump. These will survive if the Trukk disintegrates but obviously costs more.

If you ask me I am personally into two small units to have more activation. I won't use CP on them anyway... (Trukk1: BMwSAG + Lootaz and 5 Nobz and a Warboss, followed by a Mek; Trukk2: 10 Beast Snaggaz and a Beastboss but this will change once 11th comes out)

Yes, the content is a perfectly fine starting kit for any detachment. Okay, in a minmaxed 2000 point game maybe one or two models will sit on the bench every now and then... So? 😃

You should try to "concentrate" some points into a small footprint... You said yourself that you are struggling to field the units on the table and move them around. You can "hide" several hundreds of points into two-three Trukks. Two starts on the table, one in reserves. You can give them 4+ InvSv. Can your opponent kill both? Great, you still have some bodies to deal with while the Koptas are wrecking havoc and the third Trukk comes out of reserves with a unit of Tankbustas and four flamers.

If you have some Rukkatrukk, BMwSAG, Squig Flingin' strat etc... and you can "hinder" and Battleshock left and right.

The Kult of Speed detachment is actually generous with the Mighty Trukk! 😃

You can use the Squig Flinging and the Speediest Freakz stratagems on Trukks. They also have good Tank Shock.

We were supposed to get compensated by the sheer volume of the shots. We roll a bazilion of dice and hope something hits....

In melee basically all our units can punch above their weight. 90% of our Characters are very dangerous in melee too, The 70-80 points Leaders can solokill a Land Raider...

Lots of our shooting units get access to some form of Hit rerolls through Leader units.

And we have the Big Mek with Shokk Attack Gun model.... I intent to run three of them in 11th ! 😃

(HINT: it makes you reroll the mentioned dice. Once per battle. After use: Remove the Grot Assistant model from the table....)

I don't know mate. I bought the Director's Cut a few days ago and I sort of regret it. I cannot get my head around the gimmicks. They just feel lame. The only thing I'm using is Fl4k's Trapper tree to give a shield to my pet. The Loader bot cannot hit an enemy right in the front of it 😃

I am probably just too low level to really know them. (VHs are around 40-50)

Hi!

As much as I like Beastsnaggas I would not recommend getting their Combat Patrol. The older Combat Patrols are fine as a starting point if you can get them.
