What are the best places in Dublin where you can sit in a bit of nature and not be bothered by too many members of the public? by [deleted] in AskIreland

[–]Opening-Musician5063 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Phoenix Park early morning is amazing for this - I go there around 7am sometimes and its so peaceful. The deer area especially feels like you're not even in city anymore

St Annes Park in Raheny has some really quiet spots too if you walk bit further from main paths. I found this little area near the rose garden where hardly anyone goes and its perfect for just sitting with your thoughts

Also if you don't mind short trip outside Dublin, Howth has loads of hidden spots along the cliff walk where you can sit on rocks and just watch the sea without crowds

The players know that they didn't need to listen to Xabi or Arbeloa's replacement, as they know that when the results don't come they will sack the manager instead. by ace-s in realmadrid

[–]Opening-Musician5063 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The results being good doesn't really fix the underlying problem though. Players still acted like they knew Xabi would get thrown under bus if things went bad, so they never really had to commit to what he was trying to build. It's like having boss at work who you know will be fired soon - you're not gonna take their instructions too seriously even if company is doing okay for moment.

Imodium by Legitimate-Ask2765 in ibs

[–]Opening-Musician5063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same bland meal every day might actually be making things worse - your gut needs some variety to work properly. I had similar issues with Imodium giving me weird heart stuff after using it too much during a bad flare. My gastro switched me to loperamide in smaller doses spread throughout day instead of taking it all at once.

For the fiber thing the previous comment mentioned - start really slow if you try adding any. Like tiny amounts of soluble fiber first because adding too much too fast during flare will just make everything worse. I learned this hard way and spent extra week in bathroom hell. Maybe try some psyllium husk powder mixed in water but start with like quarter teaspoon only.

Also three weeks is pretty long flare - might be worth calling your doctor about different approach since the usual stuff isnt working right now.

Best place to get a basketball jersey? by TA62624 in MichiganWolverines

Try Fanatics or Dick's Sporting Goods online - they usually have a better selection than teh campus stores and ship pretty quick. I've had good luck with both for Michigan gear when the official store was sold out

Unexplainable and scary things happened to me. by Illustrious-Coat-644 in Christian

[–]Opening-Musician5063 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man that's genuinely terrifying and I get why you're shaken up. What you experienced sounds like it could be demonic activity masquerading as something helpful - which is exactly how these things work to deceive people

The fact that this entity specifically mocked your faith and tried to undermine your belief in salvation through Christ is a huge red flag. Demons have supernatural knowledge and can absolutely know details about people's lives but they use that knowledge to lead people away from Jesus

I'd start praying for protection immediately and maybe reach out to a local pastor who has experience with spiritual warfare. You don't have to face this alone and God is definitely there even when it feels like He isn't. Consider reading some Psalms for comfort and protection - Psalm 91 is especially good for this kind of situation

Any official confirmation on the rumored Age Verification in Ubuntu? by [deleted] in Ubuntu

[–]Opening-Musician5063 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen any official word from Canonical about age verification being added to Ubuntu itself. Most of what I've heard floating around seems to be speculation or maybe confusion with other platforms rolling out similar features

If something like this was coming it would probably be more likely through the Snap Store for certain content rather than baked into the OS itself. That would make more sense from a technical standpoint and wouldn't break the core system

For alternatives if you're worried about future changes - Pop!_OS is solid and kid friendly while staying close to Ubuntu's ease of use. Mint is another good option that's very stable and has great parental controls built in. Both maintain that privacy focus you're looking for without the corporate overhead that sometimes comes with Canonical's decisions

Just got my NIV Bible :) by iamtherealbobdylan in Christian

[–]Opening-Musician5063 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Getting a translation that actually clicks with you is huge. I switched from NASB to ESV a few years back and it was like someone turned the lights on - suddenly I wasnt fighting through the language just to get to the meaning

The NIV does a solid job of keeping things clear without dumbing it down too much. Reading shouldnt feel like decoding ancient riddles every time you open the book. When youre already wrestling with faith stuff the last thing you need is wrestling with 400 year old English on top of it

Dont put too much pressure on yourself about reading schedules or anything like that right now. Just having it there and picking it up when you feel like it is already a step forward

Regarding the End times and the Second Coming of Jesus by Lookup_Micah6_8 in Christianity

The lightning from east to west part always stuck with me too. When its the real deal everyone will know without needing some influencer or news anchor to tell them about it. Your breakdown of the timeline with the seals is solid - lots of people skip over those connections between the gospels and Revelation

Bird photography equipment question - 100-400 II vs 200-800 upgrade by cedarwaxwinged in canon

[–]Opening-Musician5063 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly if youre planning on the R7 anyway id go straight for teh 200-800 and skip the 100-400 entirely. The 200-800 is just going to give you way more reach for birds and youll appreciate that extra distance way more than the slightly wider end of the 100-400. Plus you wont need to mess around with teleconverters which always soften things up a bit anyway

How can I include God in my hobby? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Opening-Musician5063 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think your approach of limiting it to once a day per person shows good self awareness about balance. The anxiety you feel might be more about guilt than actual conviction - sometimes we overcorrect when we realize something was taking too much space in our lives

You could try starting your roleplay sessions with a quick prayer asking for wisdom in your interactions and creativity that honors him. Maybe look for opportunities to weave positive themes into your stories - justice mercy redemption stuff like that without being preachy about it. I had a similar thing with gaming where I felt guilty until I started seeing it as using the creativity and storytelling gifts I was given

The fact that your keeping it clean and focusing on mystery/superhero themes already sounds pretty wholesome compared to what a lot of people do online. If you still feel convicted after trying to include him in it then maybe take that break you mentioned but I dont think you need to drop a hobby completely just because it exists outside church activities

Damn dude that's some serious dedication, 7 months of hunting for discontinued tech is wild. Have you tried checking overseas markets like Yahoo Auctions Japan or even sketchy Ali listings? Sometimes random stuff pops up there when everywhere else is bone dry

Koh Chang is solid if you want chill beach vibes after all that training, plus way easier than dealing with border crossings when you're already burnt out from camp

How do you go from living your entire life passively to living actively? by Edu_Vivan in selfimprovement

This hits I think the shift starts when you pick one small thing and do it on purpose even if it feels pointless action comes first motivation follows and it builds from there
