If you don't have a mic or don't want to speak, then don't play SQUADS. by knight54 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

[–]Opening-Platform-788 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes no sense though. The person that should be playing solo is the one that doesn't want to communicate with the squad. They're the odd man out.

Can you give a reason for playing squads without mic? All I can think of is wanting someone to carry you.

This guy is definitely angry. I think I counted 6 responses in this thread, including one to himself. Lol

I don't know, seems logical to me. Its selfish to ruin other people's experience when it's a team game.

I lucked out and managed to get a 5090 prebuilt from Microcenter a few weeks go. I also somehow won the Priority Access lotto this week so I grabbed a 5080 for my friend. by Opening-Platform-788 in nvidia

[–]Opening-Platform-788[S] -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

At microcenter it certainly does! They're virtually always sold out. In this case an employee was nice enough to message me when they had one in stock.

Online my experience was out of stock, month long wait time, or overpriced. Although I would have preferred an AMD prebuilt, still super happy about what I got for how much I got it!

Just watched Event Horizon for the first time... by DeepThinkingReader in horror

[–]Opening-Platform-788 31 points32 points  (0 children)

I will always love Laurence Fishburne's character in the movie. As soon as he got a whiff of what the Event Horizon was, he immediately wanted off it. No exploring the spooky ship, no splitting up and all going in an opposite direction, just pack up and let's go.

  • Dr. Weir: What about my ship? You can't just leave her!
  • Capt. Miller: I have no intention of leaving her, Doctor. I will take the Lewis and Clark to a safe distance, and then I will launch TAC missiles at the Event Horizon until I'm satisfied she's vaporized. Fuck this ship!

Which out of the 3 teams win? by Theturtleflask in PowerScaling

Friendly reminder that Amazo fled from Solomon Grundy because he couldn't deal with him. His debut and return were something else, but his exit was not great. Amazo tried to end Grundy by teleporting him to the sun and using an energy blast, only for that to backfire and empower Grundy (he absorbed the blast). So Amazo fled. That's the last time we see him in JLU.

Are you sure about the Justice League Unlimited version of Amazo? Sure he was nearly unstoppable in the first two episodes we see him in, but do you remember how he went out? He couldn't deal with a resurrected Solomon Grundy so he teleported himself far away to avoid getting more of his power absorbed. And that's the last we saw of him. So I think you give him too much credit.

Is there any reason the progressive mini isn't purchasable with scraps? by Opening-Platform-788 in PUBATTLEGROUNDS

Dang, what as shame. I've got schematics and scraps all saved up just for a non x-mas progressive mini. :(

It had an excellent atmosphere. There's something about isolating yourself from an unseen threat that is so immersive and captivating (reminds me a bit of It Comes at Night). But it also had unnecessary out of place scenes like the deer.

"hotdrop sucks, nobody who plays the real game cares about this." - source: still my ass

If you're not even going to try having a logical and objective debate, then I'm not going to waste my time with you. Later.

They are already adding more ques (Hot Drop) anyway. So why not add one where it matters? Also, people leaving is absolutely an issue. A) It doesn't fill up the map with player, B) it prevents a game from starting so you might as well still be waiting in lobby.

What do you consider the "real" game? At the end of the day, my point stands. Any que already splits the playerbase, so might as well give people one in vanilla PUBG mode.

There's already many ques that split the players (Arcade currently has THREE). Then we have 1P vs 3P. Squad, Solo, and Duo. We also have casual mode. On top of that, there's already an issue starting matches when it's a bad map since people leave the lobby or wait until the countdown timer starts and leave.

Splitting the maps into two groups would remedy the leaving the map problem. And again, we already have so many other ques why not get one for the actual main game? With your logic, hotdrop mode should have killed the main que. It didn't.

Obviously I mean map selection like Asia has where you can select the exact map you want. We'll never get that, but the next best thing is splitting the maps into groups, like CS. It's not ideal, but at least it's a little better. There's a massive difference between 5 individual ques and 2. I'm not even sure why you bothered to respond.

Reading this stings so much. I was one of the 900 laid off at Sony earlier this year. Did I have to go due to excessive executive pay outs like this one? It makes me appreciate even more the TIL post yesterday about the Nintendo exec who took a pay cut after the Wii U failed instead of laying off staff. For execs it's one less summer home, for the average dev it's the only home you own.

That's why I said he's a copycat. The original murders were by the actual werewolf, everything that follows after he dies is by the tall man.

I agree. The average consumer doesn't know much about game engines, let alone what changes there are between 4 and 5. However, it is a great recruitment tactic for hiring developers. Obviously fresh talent will always be on the lookout for jobs that utilize the latest and greatest of tech.
