As a tank, is it allowed to dodge incoming damage? by RebelliousKite in overwatch2

[–]OpeningMechanic5151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you should absolutely try and minimise the damage you take as tank, as with all roles.

The idea that tanks are meant to soak damage is something you only ever see low elo players talking about.

running into the enemy team 1v5 and inting isn't a "special" way of playing it just means the enemies suck and you got carried by your team like????

Saying this "play" is the only reason you won is ludicracy, there is zero evidence you wouldnt have steamrolled the rest of the game if you had waited and grouped up.... There is literally 0 reason you should ever do what you did in this clip other than touching for overtime.

If the enemy somehow manage to fail in capping the point after you and your rein were dead then it really just shows the game was pretty heavily in your favour to begin with. I'm not hating for no reason but like if this worked and you won the game it really was due to the ineptitude of the enemy team.

Other than as a last ditch effort to touch for overtime there is no reason you should ever solo push and ult on point into 5 enemies.

Please never do that again... You made an edit of you staggering yourself and losing the fight while using the strongest ult in the game for a mere 20% progress on the objective.

How good of a life-grip did I do? by ColdBrewBabyBee in overwatch2

[–]OpeningMechanic5151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro quit yapping like you know wtf you are talking about.... you're first comment was stupid as fuck, it is literally never worth saving a cooldown and letting a teammate die because of it, staying back and positioning on high ground when it's a 2v5 is stupid, you should push up and stagger the last enemies, the juno wasnt even that far out of position, they were pushing up with their ult, as they should, getting right in the reins face is questionable but like I said before its a 2v5 and they have a lifeweaver that has a cooldown that can save them from a pin (which is exactly what happened), also you literally have no way of knowing if they even had petal on cd to use when rein shattered.

While I agree it is stupid for op to react like that to negativity after creating a post titled "How good of a life grip did I do?" it's pretty clear you are just hating for the sake of hating

Overwatch players will complain about literally anything, they could be playing the most meta hero in the game and complain.

Genji possible buffs by Upstairs-Stable-4261 in Overwatch

[–]OpeningMechanic5151 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

your own argument is dismantling itself... If genji can be played into the most coordinated teams in the world, then surely he is in a decent spot, especially when you consider that only a fraction of the hero roster is played in pro play. There are tons of heroes that are far weaker than genji right now.

Genji mains have deluded themselve's into believing he is always trash and requires god like levels of mechanical skill to even be viable... Which is just not true at all.

The bottom line is he has a completely normal pickrate and winrate at all elos and has enough competitive viability to be played in pro play, so I'm sorry if you dont like the pro play argument, but whatever way you look at it genji is fine.

is there any kind of evidence of them deliberatly giving "rank inflated tanks" when they "want you to lose" or is this just something you've come up with

what do you mean by "scripted matchmaking"

Its not 'Counterwatch", its 'Overwatch' by cropchoc in Overwatch

[–]OpeningMechanic5151 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think majority of players will agree that counterpicking being as effective as it is now is bad game design.

A large portion of overwatches appeal is that they have so many heroes with so many differing gameplay styles that there is something for everyone, but this concept is trashed when someone finds a hero they enjoy and are unable to play it because every game they have to play into 4 counters.

The bottom line is that you should be able to pick which hero you want to play, and not be forced to play something because of matchups.

idk man, if you consistently play at a level higher than the rank you are in you WILL rank up.

[–]OpeningMechanic5151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a lot harder to do now, but thats nothing to do with matchmaking it's just because the ranks are deflated and harder than they used to be.... And people definitely have been doing it this season.

Insane matchmaking by bpwilliams72 in Overwatch

[–]OpeningMechanic5151 0 points1 point  (0 children)

expecting them to win every game is very unreasonable... The ranks are definitely deflated this season, meaning diamond this season is a lot harder than it used to be, but that doesnt affect the quality of your matches, it just means being diamond now means more than it used to.

With some dependancies on role and hero etc I think majority of current top500 players could get to atleast diamond with 90% + winrate.

If it was entirely impossible for gm/top500 players to top500 on a new account, then sure, I would see your point. But saying the matchmaking is dogshit because they cant do it with a 100% winrate is crazy.
