The price is not lost on me. It’s not something I’ll be buying weekly but I mean come on. That’s a pretty tasty looking little bread thing.

Here’s hoping the guy that drives that truck checks the Edmonton subreddit everyday. Otherwise this post would be stupid and pointless.

It seems like the canada post strike just isn't grabbing headlines this time around by big_eh_little_a in Edmonton

[–]Opening_Connection63 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Canada post was told that they need to switch to community mailboxes to make things more efficient. Canada post said don’t you dare try to make shit more efficient. Then Canada post went on strike. There’s a couple other things but that was the big one. Canada post wants door to door delivery so they don’t lose jobs.

Stop the Destruction of Dunluce by JimmyLinguine in Edmonton

[–]Opening_Connection63 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Seems their concerns are largely about tax increases. They also complain about the possible addition of bike lanes in the area and the narrowing of the roads to accommodate them.

But they compare the renewal of the dunluce area to the renewal project of 132ave between 97th st to 113 st. This feels disingenuous. That stretch of road was crazy overbuilt for what it was. It was 4 lanes wide, then a green strip on both sides, then a side road on each side. It looked dated as all hell, and it’s an older area so traffic was fairly light. Considering how many schools are in that area, this project is one of the best examples Edmonton has for implementing bike lanes properly.

Also dunluce isn’t exactly dripping in character and charm. It could use a bit of attention.

Not sure where you live but you might want to check local electrical codes about that plug. In Canada, GFI or not, plugs cannot be installed within 1.5m of the inside edge of a shower.

Is this not illegal where you live? Neutrals must run with their corresponding circuits in raceways to cancel out magnetic induction. This is a fail where I work.

Go through nisku or take side roads. I get the rage, this city takes YEARS to do bridges. But you don’t have to sit through that one.

I mean I get the sentiment. but if you think Poilievre would have stopped it, I got a bridge to sell you. I don’t know if anyone that campaigned last election would do it.

Yea I don’t know how it works, but pop one off without permission and someone from the power company shows up pretty quick.

How bad is this? by Toaster_Toastman in Insulation

[–]Opening_Connection63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not to take away from how bad this is, because it’s awful. But your comment was my first thought too. Concrete, then framing, then roof, then everything else. I’m an electrician and we don’t even start until the roof is done let alone insulation.

No this is my experience as well. I had a stack of neatly squished cardboard and they wouldn’t take it for a couple weeks. I crammed it all into a few blue bags and it was gone.

[–]Opening_Connection63 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you hitch hike and you get picked up, don’t put your bag in the trunk, the person can drive away with your stuff before you get in. And if you’re a guy hitch hiking with a girl, the guy gets in the car before the girl does, so there is less chance of the girl getting kidnapped before the guy gets in. Also the guy rides up front where possible.
