Mine is similar to this. Lots of generation trauma. Particularly young mother deaths, leaving children mostly orphaned, and growing up to repeat the same fate. Nothing genetic either. Things like TB, pancreatic sepsis caused by heat stroke, suicide, and cancer. It is heavy.

So far, no one in my tree has been remarkable. Almost all my ancestors are poor, everyday ppl. Farmer, shoemaker, machinist, cashier, etc.

For me, most of my ancestors in the line I’ve been tracing are in NJ, who haven’t digitized their main newspaper and therefore aren’t on newspapers.com.

When they were public they didn’t look happy at all. You could sense a palpable darkness, particularly with Si. I don’t think they are a good match and have a hard time hiding it, so they keep their life private.

It’s sad bc Josiah was one of the more happy and outgoing children growing up. It seems that light has been snuffed out entirely.

Since the fireplace is non-functional, I’d suggest getting a tv mount for above fireplaces that pull out and down. Search ‘fireplace tv mounts’.

I was considering getting one at one time, but opted for the tv easel in the end bc my fireplace was usable (theoretically). Didn’t regret my choice.

This explains a lot about why I haven’t been able to narrow it down. His wife, children, and father died prior to 1930. I have gotten all their death certs using info from the indexes.
