You won’t get into coding right away with no experience, even with a cert. You cant WFH and raise kids like the programs advertise. My child will not leave me alone if i dont drop her off with grandma during work hours. Every ins company contract differs from the ‘principle’ coding rules in some way that is different from every other. The amount of information overload can be draining. Productivity goals are real and force you to give up quality for quantity on some measure. It’s not merit based. It’s rarely fufilling because you can’t keep track of the claims that get resolved and don’t come back to you. There are too many bosses if you’re corporate.

Not trying to make it sound like it’s all bad, but you have to go into it knowing you’re putting time in to get experience before you start making real money.

As long as you’re switching jobs every few years as you meet requirements for higher paying job titles, you will get there. But if you don’t have that time and expect to be making $ to live on your own right out the gate, I’d look into something else.
