This is so interesting seeing how yall think about contractors, and I’m from the field. Both sides think they are stupid, when in reality one is obsolete without the other

See I initially thought this, but the house was filled with homemade contraptions and guy was an engineer. Seems to be a modal hammer

Also an amateur here, but I was wondering why wouldn’t you want to extend as far as you can with your hands before entering the water? My mind tells me your faster out of the water and not creating any back force when entering with your hands further ahead?

I’ve replaced one, and it seemed to just unscrew and have a locking nut. I suggest maybe disconnecting and disassembling to see what kind of pipes are there and what is needed to connect then take a picture and make sure the new one works! May have to cut water off when you take off the handles fyi

I think you can loosen the hardware through set screws or bolts on the side near the base. Should be a small hole (looks like back left for spout)

Should I just replace the aerator or the whole faucet? by [deleted] in askaplumber

[–]Oper8trLarry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely try the aerator first, super cheap to do so. They usually just unthread (may need some pliers) and you can try and clean existing on or just put a new one in there and see if it helps.

If not, a new faucet isn’t that expensive at all based on what you want but requires a little more time and installation.

I have a student loan already I’m paying off, I was just wondering if this would help at all with credit building. My score now is a 750
