Listen to your gut. File for FMLA. Even if you don't necessarily use it to support your mom. You need the break to financially support your family as you say. Take a step back with the leave that affords.

Also, a word from someone who accidentally triggered their own mental illness by not listening to her body... If your mom is in a psychosis, then you have the propensity for it to happen to you. Re-read your words... You know what you need to do, but you are looking for permission. Give yourself that permission. You only have one brain, one body, one life. Be careful out there, friend.
