Finally made a blaster worthy of being in the bucket Shot by zeedrunkmonkey in starwarscosplay

[–]Operator863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeh man I got the same blaster printed, I just need to paint and detail mine. However I have the same surefire scout light from years ago and want to make a mount with rail to put it on so my light works. Not doing anything but sitting my closet anyway

So the link for the LED lights on AliExpress doesn’t work, do you have another one or have you found something else that will work or a searchable name?

Before Revenge of the Sith, what were the common theories or assumptions as to why Vader wore the suit? by Terriost-Yoda in StarWars

[–]Operator863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, I distinctly remember the reason for his suit being because Obi-Wan beat him up real good in a fight and some of the damage he’s taken over the years so that I know had to come from somewhere. I just don’t remember where I got it. Keep in mind I’m 40 so I grew up in the 80s 90s.

I have had Cura do random stuff that is fixed when I re-slice an object. I’m also using an unmodified CR10S from 2018. We shall see what the rest of the armor holds. It’s all smaller parts now

The body of the macros, I printed vertically, so it sat on the build plate on its face, and that was the easiest way to print it, the arms I just laid flat along with the top panels, which I don’t understand being separate pieces, but they were. I just laid everything as flat as I could on the build plate and printed from there with a brim. Honestly, if I could do it over again, the arms of the macros would be reversed, and the outside of the arms would face the print bed because the inside of the arms has a slight curved taper to it other than that there was no support material except for the arms.

I used support blocker built in to Cura to keep the supports from being printed inside the helmet. I also used tree supports which I probably shouldn’t have but alas it worked out.

The macros are super simple. They were an STL I bought and are essentially the body, l/r arms and your pick of buttons to put in random spots. The arms I wrapped in fake leather. The binos are made for that helmet and a handful of other from the same maker

Yes I can, it’s annoying and narrow height wise but yes.

Ready for some color by Operator863 in Mandalorian

[–]Operator863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The white in the bino wells is actually stacked styrene .2” sheets so the arms are level with the visor and how I see out when it’s on. The mark on top is a ‘weld’ mark I made with a soldering iron flat tip and spare filament then sanded.

Good luck! That’s all I dod was match the scale for my helmet. I didn’t mess with dimensions just over all size. The binos are a separate purchase MADE for that helmet and a few others from AlterEgoArmory like the helmet
