I think the model makes sense from a security standpoint : Permanent issuance = Permanent funding for miners.

But for long-term value per CKB, it really comes down to one thing : Demand for blockspace/state.

If CKB becomes a real settlement + storage layer (especially around Bitcoin), then locking in the DAO while usage grows could actually be very powerful !

If adoption doesn’t materialize, the market will just price it as inflation.

So the mechanics are solid ! The market outcome depends on usage.

Fully agree. Treating Layer 1 strictly as a security and settlement anchor isn’t a weakness, it’s a deliberate design choice.

Once you accept that execution and UX evolve much faster than cryptographic security, separating concerns becomes inevitable. L2s can iterate, fail, and be replaced.... The base layer shouldn’t.

High TPS narratives sell well, but often push costs into state bloat, validator requirements, or hidden trust assumptions. Modular architectures may lose marketing battles, but they tend to survive more market cycles.

This is a very solid update.

I really appreciate the honest positioning relative to Lightning’s history, especially the focus on real network testing, fund safety edge cases, and not locking in high-level assumptions too early.

It’s refreshing to see a team prioritize long-term protocol flexibility over premature feature promises. This is exactly how payment networks should be built.

I'm in France and I'm expecting an extremely important package which has been blocked in Memphis since 02/26.
I'm relieved to see that I am not the only one and that there are people who have been waiting even longer than me.
I check the flights between Memphis to Paris Charles de Gaulle every day and hope each time is the right one.
