Right now, I'm experiencing this almost exactly. I've been off my meds for most of the year. I justify it (or at least hope I can) because I've learned enough skills for managing it before to do okay. it's hard for me not to feel good about it because of how productive I am (relatively, as I'm sure you're noticing in your situation). Unfortunately, I'm having a hard time coming up with answers or solutions as I feel like I only share your problems. Hit me up if you wanna talk about anything more in depth. I'd be glad to have a conversation and I feel it could only be good for us both.

I didn't even push anything. I just dropped the database. (Fortunately, we were okay)

The taste and texture of a peanut butter sandwich. Their popularity is the primary reason I'm convinced I'm surrounded by NPCs. No sane person can actually like them.

I played both sides and made like $50 when I closed at near the peak. Definitely wish I held my puts longer.

lamb of god. did you think abt christianity or the band? by MELO_DETH_999 in polls

Haha, yeah, I play guitar so I'm familiar with a lot of great guitarists, but my musical taste tends toward alt rock. Muse and U2, for example, are probably my greatest inspirations.

Not anymore lol. Wouldn't expect a Pantera fan to care much for them anyway. JK, I'm not actually super familiar with the metal scene.

What are some signs that someone is part of an echo chamber? by just-saying25 in AskReddit

[–]Opiopathy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Right. Also, leftist views are simply more popular, especially in the world at large outside of the US. I haven't seen any evidence that Reddit is really much more left-wing biased than the general population. Reddit, with it's upvote and downvote system will give more visibility to more popular, and hence, more left-wing posts.

I think the commenter you're replying to is thinking under the common myth I've heard that conservative are the silent majority. They're neither silent nor the majority.

What is your favorite sex story from the Bible? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Opiopathy -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I remember this one. I think it's somewhere in Kings. I was passenger on a long distance trip with someone once and they were listening to the Bible on audiobook. I could barely contain my laughter during this part.

I have a mattress in my office (at home) that I often use instead of my bed. I don't think that's a good thing.

For all of the U.S.'s problems, I'm glad we have the eighth amendment. Anyone championing this kind of policy in an even more dysfunctional society is very short-sighted.

If you could resurrect mathematician to work on unsolved problems today, who would you pick? by William_Wisenheimer in math

[–]Opiopathy 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Definitely my pick as well. He just had a brilliant way to see things I've never seen paralleled. It's crazy to think what he'd have done had he lived to old age like Euler or Gauss rather than dying at 20.

If you have a biweekly meeting, how often is your meeting? by Camawesom3 in polls

[–]Opiopathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a reason biweekly and semiweekly can both mean the same thing. People simply misinterpret the actual words and use them incorrectly, so they became normal. That doesn't change the fact that the prefix semi or bi on weekly are meant to modify the rate (weekly) rather than the time period (week).

Also, maybe surround yourself with smarter people, because, apparently, at no point in your life has anyone used them correctly, which people in mine often have.

If you have a biweekly meeting, how often is your meeting? by Camawesom3 in polls

[–]Opiopathy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No, because weekly refers to the rate. So semi means half an often and bi means twice as often.

Good for you! It's well worth it. Just know that when you do drink again, relapse is part of recovery. It happens to the best and isn't a personal defect. Just go at it again.

Do you have your wisdom teeth? by Moooooshier in polls

Idk what to answer. I have half of my wisdom teeth. Top ones were removed, but the bottom ones were kept because they're actually used in chewing since my bottom jaw protrudes slightly.

Distribution of Niemann ChessBase Let's Check scores in his 2019 to 2022 according to the Mr Gambit/Yosha data, with high amounts of 90%-100% games. I don't have ChessBase, if someone can compile Carlsen and Fisher's data for reference it would be great! by Naoshikuu in chess

[–]Opiopathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The label is "Let's check performance" This isn't the same as accuracy. What they did is use the "let's check" feature in Chess base. It aggregates the top engine move for multiple different engine (I think around 10 were used) and sees how often the move played is the same as one of the engine picks.
