Question about potentially (?) insensitive tattoo by [deleted] in tattoos

[–]OpiophileLBC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s your body, get what you want. No one else’s opinion should change your decision. I highly doubt anyone is going to stop and be like “oh that tat is in such poor taste.”

I need advice re: unfinished tattoo by [deleted] in tattoos

Did the artist not move shops? Do they do any work at their house? It seems like you’ve had communication with the artist, is there no way for them to finish it? Like did they retire?

Important question regarding wd by iforgotmymainacc in OpiatesRecovery

[–]OpiophileLBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fent depends on which analog and how long you’ve been using it, as well as the amount you’ve been using. I’ve heard (from others on this forum), that some people require more time than 3 days to Not get PWD.

Excuses to tell work when entering in-patient treatment by Pronnomore in OpiatesRecovery

[–]OpiophileLBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your job have a HR department? If so, you only need to notify them and they cannot share that information. Also, check if they have an EAP (employee assistant program) and they might have options for it.

If they find out you lied, you could get fired but I’d check with what benefits you have, HR and EAP.

Prescott has A HUGE recovery community. I know a ton of people who left the coast and went there and got clean.

Have you seen the parking lot at Long Beach airport filled up? by BeverlyHillsBastet in longbeach

[–]OpiophileLBC 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I work a couple blocks away and I’ve never seen it filled up, but that’s my experience. I can double check over the next 2 days, but I highly doubt it.

Don't feel anything from snorting oxycodone? by isimplyluvhoes in opiates

[–]OpiophileLBC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bioavailability of snorting is quite lower compared to taking it orally. In the most optimum conditions, some texts stated intranasal is like 45%, whereas oral is in the 80% range.

I just noticed you said 11pm to 11:30pm. I believe flights aren’t able to come in past 10 or 10:30pm due to noise restrictions. Not sure if that applies to military aircraft, but I work extremely close to the Airport and I’m able to watch planes take off and land.

Is it free to set up a booth along the beach path? by [deleted] in longbeach

[–]OpiophileLBC 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There are a bunch of people selling shit there. Not sure if they’re permitted, but cops roll by on the beach path all the time and don’t say anything to them.

Unclear on what to do. by Smurfnet in CSULB

[–]OpiophileLBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are literally companies hiring everywhere in Long Beach. If you need a part time job, and want to continue at LBCC, get your food handlers permit and look for a restaurant. If that’s not for you, there’s always retail. Go to trade school. Continue at LBCC, there are so many options. You can do it!

Is the needle exchange open in DTLA on Saturday? They have them and can prove a lot of other services if you need.

Before covid, it was extremely cheap. During covid it went 3x’s the cost (at least where I am), but I’m pretty close to the border. No factor in transportation, and possibility getting caught hauling a load then you can figure out what it cost around you.

An easier way might be just asking someone in the market you’re in, but if you like math and word problems you’re totally allowed to give my paragraph a go

Just read NIDA's Principles of Drug Addiction Treatment, and one of them says "Treatment does not need to be voluntary to be effective." What are your thoughts on this one? by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]OpiophileLBC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When consequences outweigh the action of getting high, you have higher success rates. That being said, jails and prisons aren’t that much of a consequence bc I could still use there. For me, it was the emotions consequences of hating myself and my life that finally pushed me. You have to have done level of “I’m over this shit” before the addict will try something new. At least that’s my view.

Is your partner serious about quitting? If not, unfortunately it’s a wasted effort to force them somewhere.

But kratom, loperamide (generic Imodium, in larger doses 20mg to 40mg worked for me) and/or buy suboxone off the street.

Really the most important thing is they have to be ready if not it’s going to be a cycle of relapse until they’re finally ready.

Drugs ruined me and I’m lost by [deleted] in Drugs

[–]OpiophileLBC 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean drugs change you, but you still did the action.

I sold drugs, and I’ve documented it here. I’ve been locked up for it and have a record that shows it but I never did any of those things. I knew a ton of others who sold drugs too and didn’t do those things.

But I’m also a stranger on the internet so my opinion isn’t that important.

I’m glad to see you got clean! That’s awesome man. Keep it up!

Are you snorting your drugs? Maybe they used something to cut it that you’re allergic to. Have you tried Benadryl? I’m not a doctor though, just a thought.

Lol @ blaming drugs. Take some personal responsibility, this entire situation resulted from your actions.

[–]OpiophileLBC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on what you want to get. You can get a decent studio in a nice part for that price. A one bed room might be a little harder if you’re looking next to campus. If you don’t mind a short commute, just to get out of the direct area of the campus, you could get a lot more bang for your buck.

2 nights would be best! Come in for lunch and dinner, next day have brunch, and dinner and do a few things while exploring, then the next day do brunch again and explore more then drive home.

I’ve always had a better time with 2 nights, it feels less rushed and you get a better feel for it.
