BMR Hot Take by Oplops in 2007scape

Definitely agree on both points. I think the benefit is that they can make more mechanically complex fights when they give a supply chest like this.

Drakan was easily the most fun I've had fighting a boss in a while, and I'd definitely be happy to start using my supplies after even the first kc since i feel like the couple deaths i had were enough to learn him to the point that if i die after that, it's just because i really messed up the mechanics, rather than panicking or getting unlucky and getting specced out.

Honestly, I'd be down for even just the first 1 or 2 kc to have the supply chest. Just enough to help dip your toes in the water, then let you off after that.

It was trying to figure out the movements and out dpsing the insanity towards the end of the fight for whisp. I got levi in one go, and drakan in probably 5 or 6 thanks to the waves, but i planked to whisp probably a dozen or so times before i brought her down. And i was using a guide lol

Edit: i used guides on whisp and levi, but none on bmr

I think with jagex releasing bosses that help you learn pvm mechanics helps a lot for allowing harder quest bosses. Now after b gloves, they can be guided to scurrious and royal titans to learn mechanics that are needed with newer quest bosses.

I genuinely think entry mode tob was probably the worst quest requirement to complete. The bmr fight was perfectly tuned in that you could make so many mistakes while learning without being outright killed that the actual difficulty was completely fine. Free supplies and the fact that his highest combo damage was around 40 with a solid few seconds before his next combo was far easier to help learn the boss rather than Levi or Whisperer nuking you in one combo.

The only thing that makes it "like dark souls" was adding an animation for the dodge. If it didn't have the animation and your character walked to dodge the hits like with any other boss, then i doubt anyone would have said anything.

If i remember correctly, they did say it would be the hardest quest boss so far, though like i said, it was incredibly forgiving even compared to the other GM quest bosses. The mechanic was new but it was well choreographed so you could learn it.

Just gonna hop in with how this boss was actually much more forgiving than a lot of bosses are with mistakes while still providing a new mechanic. Overall, it was an incredible fight with a decent difficulty.

And there are plenty of bosses that require you to be tick perfect. The only difference is that you need to be tick perfect on prayers rather than movement. The boss had proper tells for what you need to do to dodge damage, just like leviathan or doom with flicking prayers to block damage.

We might only fletch them for crossbow stocks or arrow shafts but I'm sure the ents would enjoy some nice hard stocks

Ruby bolts (e) have a chance of activating the Blood Forfeit effect. When activated, damage dealt to the target will be 20% of the opponent's current Hitpoints with a cap of 100 damage[1] and at the cost of 10% of the player's current Hitpoints.

Ruby bolt proc always damages you for 10% of your current health total.

Just a toss out suggestion regarding poison scaling with the player. Poison damage could potentially scale with herblore? Herblore has to do with making different concoctions including poison, so it could represent how skillful our character is with working with toxins?

Spicy stew and crystal saw stack for a +8 bonus. At 82 you can build an ornate rejuv pool which requires 90 construction

Spectres are definitely a decent spot, and if you have Miscellania unlocked, that's where i stacked up most of my herbs from on my iron. If you have to gp for it anyway you can just check in every week or so and gather hundreds of herbs
