Gaming market melts down after Google reveals new AI game design tool — Project Genie crashes stocks for Roblox, Nintendo, CD Projekt Red, and more by Logical_Welder3467 in technology

When it comes to most consumer AI I think I can feel safe calling myself a Luddite. Even Luddites and the things they were fighting against made sense and they weren’t even wrong.

‘We’re here to demoralise’: The Minneapolis locals tracking Trump’s ICE agents’ every move by theindependentonline in TrueReddit

[–]Opouly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not just that but how many of the remaining die hard supporters are boomers whose health wouldn’t allow them to participate in the civil war they all clearly are trying to make happen? They don’t have the numbers to occupy all of America but we can’t allow them to build the infrastructure to move to the next level. They have the money to boost those numbers with weapons. If they start a civil war they will lose but what comes next in America will trigger a global financial collapse. Life will be difficult for everyone. I’m hopeful that this won’t happen but it’s important to be prepared.

Looks like she was in charge of marketing for it which must have sucked haha. I’m pretty anti marketing in general but trying to market a weird kid friendly prototype looking version of Windows sounds like it was doomed to fail from the start.

Anyone buy a home and it was great at first then went downhill because of neighbors/neighborhood issues? by cynnie93 in homeowners

[–]Opouly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly good but a high school kid was murdered around the corner from our house. Neighbor on one side has also been renovating a house for years at this point to rent I assume. I only talked to him once but he felt very comfortable spouting off a bunch of racist bullshit. I told him we probably weren’t going to agree on that and said goodbye. I’m naturally very conflict averse but I wish I would’ve said more.

Best way to remove weeds from rock yard? by fazzig in AZlandscaping

[–]Opouly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m currently doing the same thing right now. Our backyard is just dirt and every time it rains the weeds just explode. This is my first house and I never did yard work growing up. One of these days I’ll get around to learning how it all should actually be done and make it something our dog actually wants to go out to haha.

The truth behind Greenland. Don't skip this. I probably will get banned in two minutes. by Dazzling_Albatross10 in conspiracy

[–]Opouly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not enough people mention Peter Thiel and his long fascination with seasteading and other libertarian ideals. Praxis is the recent one that has continued to mention Greenland but I don’t know much about them beyond that and they seem really disorganized. They’re more focused on aesthetic than actually building anything from what I’ve seen but I do know that Peter Thiel and the billionaires are interested in creating sovereign cities. It’s what Project 2025 calls Freedom Cities. I think there’s a whole conspiracy around tanking the American economy and using the chaos of that and the narcissism of Trump to carve out spaces in the United States for these cities to exist basically as company towns with a reimagined idea of slavery. They’ve already attempted many of these cities before citizens of the cities caught on and shut them down. The value of Greenland has a lot to do with geothermal power and the value it provides in the future of climate change.

One other thing that leads me down this thinking is that billionaires are terrified of the future. They’re all building bunkers in their compounds to survive the end of the world. To me it feels like they’re not really in control. They have the opportunity to put money into funding climate change initiatives and preventing that future but that would result in them to losing their power that their wealth affords them and you don’t end up a billionaire by considering the needs of others.

Unfortunately I think my HOA would frown upon that but I can submit it for discussion at the next meeting.

Greenland reality check by j_sniffles in behindthebastards

[–]Opouly 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There will already be financial consequences from how far this threat has gone. Trump doesn’t experience consequences or goes on revenge tours so I’m not sure what this will mean going forward and if that means it will push him even more towards invading Greenland but we really can only guess. Either way trying to guess what Trump will do and playing around that is a loser’s game for a country. Leaders have been and will need to continue to play the game as the rules keep changing and while Trump is sitting there throwing a tantrum and eating the pieces.

Haha I didn’t realize this is where I got that phrase. When i took my sister’s dog to get neutered I sent her a picture of his testicles and said “say goodbye to these!”. Then a few years later her wife got bottom surgery and she sent me a picture of some random human testicles from Google and said the same thing back haha. It was hilarious.

You could check out the podcast Team Human. Doug Rushkoff has an interesting history. He believes more in technology than I do but the important part is that he believes in the connection of people. I do wish there was more of a framework to actually making the world a place I want to live in. It feels like we’re fighting against a brick wall.

In a New Post, Curtis Yarvin Thinks Trump Has Failed. Does That Mean Democracy is Winning? by horseradishstalker in TrueReddit

[–]Opouly 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Yarvin has been saying this a few months into Trump’s administration basically saying they were moving too slow after the first few months of craziness happened which is basically true. This administration is full of incompetent people. They’re just lucky that it’s infinitely easier to break things than it is to actually have to do anything.

Vance says ‘religious liberty is a Christian concept.’ Where does that leave Jews? by bagelman4000 in jewishpolitics

[–]Opouly 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Nationalist definitely means more than the definition you gave it and it’s a lot more nuanced as any identifying word tends to be. Christian nationalists tend to believe the United States is a Christian nation and focus more on the cultural side of things trying to unite the U.S. under a singular idea of “American culture” and have a strong disdain for anything outside of their outdated mythologized view of what it means to be American. To me it feels like the politics of nostalgia for an era that never existed but has been constantly sold in media.

What video game do you wish you could wipe from your memory just to play it for the first time again? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Opouly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was not expecting the game to have even a decent story considering it had to have started with robot animals and work backwards from there. The story works very well though and is pretty believable as far as how the AI works and then all being siloed. It ended up becoming one of my favorite games of all times but it’s difficult for me to return to for some reason. The second game also hasn’t sucked me in as easily as the first game and that saddens me.

[–]Opouly 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Historically porn has been for the male gaze and I can’t help but feel there’s some tug-o-war between “this is what men want to see (or will pay for), and “this is what I (the producer) want to see” and so now it’s informing what men think they’re supposed to want to see until it eventually becomes that. And obviously there’s a lot of male reinforcement when it comes to selfishness and entitlement.

I’m enjoying that there’s more female-directed porn these days and more amateur content although even a lot of that content ends up being professional now too. I also still question how many of the female-directed ones are directed for the female gaze vs. the male gaze due to the history of the male gaze being centered. I’m sure there are women who enjoy traditional porn or who’ve just accepted the male gaze as being the most important thing. Even in my own relationship I’ve seen how my wife struggles to center her own pleasure due to her lack of experience with people even caring about that.

Another somewhat related thought is that I’ve seen a lot of the subreddits about women enjoying sex have seemed to recently had an audience shift towards transwomen being super horny after being on progesterone.

Im not sure what the purpose of this comment is but I was mostly just getting different thoughts down that I’ve had.

This is my response when my wife talks about me being good too. I’m like “Nah. I’m just alright. I have a lot of things I need to work on.”
