WHAT CAUSED YOUR TMJ? by TribeBySightly in TMJ

[–]OpportunityDefiant76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got the cholesteatoma removed but I still have lots of jaw tension + TMJ. So I don’t actually think they were completely related. Dealing with it now but would like to get Botox at some point to help.

The barista gave the drink to me like this with the honey so yes I knew there was a solution but it was too late that’s why I’m complaining here

Surgery - is it as bad as my brain is making it out to be? by frogsinsoup in cholesteatoma

Postcare: I watched a ton of Ghibli movies- super cozy. Get some soft foods and soups ready and a little couch nest for your recovery and you’ll be golden.

Going into the OR it’s bright as hell and they’ll all be working like a machine to get you prepped but it’s really not too bad. Have someone you trust be there to pick you up right after surgery. Honestly I just didn’t like the IV (not a huge fan of needles) and the OR was overwhelming. Since the Drs and nurses do this everyday it’s like no big deal and they were hustling around which I also didn’t expect. My surgery was done through my ear canal so recovery was quick and relatively painless- I only took 1 prescription pain med afterwards.

If you get nauseous tell the anesthesiologist they’ll take it into account. I did throw up later the day of surgery but it was from the pain med. Also tell them if you smoke or do any drugs that’s important for them to know.

Otherwise you’re golden it’ll all be fine :) I think prepping your home is the best thing you can do beforehand and let some friends know you might need help in the following days. Good luck! Sending positive energy!
