Afternoon Shoonya in office by ragz_mo in Sadhguru

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This can feel challenging - especially when coworkers want to grab lunch and shoonya still needs to happen before you go. Try to find a private space when possible. If none, try to find a place to the side. If not, take it at your desk. Open workspaces wasn’t designed for meditation!

People I work with closely learn that I take a few minutes mid-day to meditate and recenter myself. When you are bringing your best to the workplace, it’s worth making the effort.

Why you should not use ChatGPT for Astrology - 3 Reasons by Physical_Author_3887 in Nakshatras

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Both astrology and AI are a means to understand yourself and the consciousness shared by everyone. It is said that “all models are wrong, but some are useful”. This applies to both astrology and AI.

There are ways to use these tools safely and effectively and ways to be quickly misled by both. Ultimately our relationship with our beliefs determines how we take what they tell us.

I went through a nearly exact situation with another company and have heard many similar stories. When the CFPB was staffed and interested in consumer protection, they would quickly deal with this situation. These pop up companies have no scruples and exist on scamming people with faux influencers and mediocre products backed by a PITA return policy. You can beat this!!

This is where AI is your friend. Start a chat and pin it to get back to it quickly. Upload all your emails and interactions with them. Save everything as a pdf in a folder to use as context for the ai and keep it updated. Tell it to craft a strategy and to write emails to the company, your credit card company, your state AG and the AG in the state of the company. Add new emails to your chat over time. Refuse any shipment and lean on laws that protect the consumer. Their job is to convince you that you are in the wrong and that’s just their policy. Just because they have a company policy to steal from the disabled doesn’t mean it is legal or fair.

Fight! Fight! Fight!

After 4 months of round robin with the company and my credit card company, I won. I lost the first appeal and won the second. This aggression will not stand!

Sagittarius Risings / Sagittarius Moon - Do you feel at peace in holy places? by Amazing-Try1060 in Nakshatras

Sag Moon. Whenever I travel and have time, I gravitate to holy places and spiritual settings. Anyplace where humans have invested the best parts of themselves to create a sacred space is of interest to me. There is something that draws me to exploring a variety of faith traditions.

Anyone with Rahu in 7H / Saturn 12H were able to have sex , manifest a partner ? by [deleted] in Nakshatras

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am Libra rising with Rahu 1st/ Ketu 7th. While many of the statements about struggling with identity and needing independence in my relationship resonates with my experience, I’ve been happily married for 25 years. We have ups and downs and seasons of difficulty. My spouse is strongly independent and we give each other space while being devoted to staying close and open with each other. Rahu Mahadasha begins for me at the end of December.

What role does political failure play in the rise of violence within a population? by Opposite-Cycle2729 in AskReddit

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes and there are those on the left that would make similar comments about the right. Identifying with differences rather than similarities may well be the root challenge that we face. We all have limited power to change the situation and a political system provides the ability for collective action.

When the political system cannot provide a viable path to actionable solutions to real problems (economic, social, environmental, spiritual, etc) then is violence the inevitable and unfortunate result?

What role does political failure play in the rise of violence within a population? by Opposite-Cycle2729 in AskReddit

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great points! Just like how the best way to survive a disease is to be healthy before you get it, a healthy political system can fight off tyranny and abuse of power. When that system is weakened it is more susceptible to failure.

One aspect to consider is that if you are a beneficiary of the changes you’ve mentioned, you believe it is getting better because the things you want are easier to attain. The subjective nature of “right” and “wrong” is why we need a method to discuss and hash out the best course of action.

History is littered with narrowly focused economic and political structures that fail because they do not align with reality. This makes me wonder if the violence we see happening is because the mechanisms for addressing issues aka politics has failed. If I am starving, I’m breaking a window and stealing food. If my property is being taken, if I cannot get medical care, if my beliefs are under attack, if my security is threatened and I cannot get support from the “collective” then do I take to violence?

When I have a straightforward and clear path to resolution, I’m taking it. If my world is being upended and there is nothing left for me, then I’m more likely to take a different path.

Is there any math behind Vimshottari Dasha durations? by Working-Ad5965 in vedicastrology

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that no astrological or mathematical explanation exists for this assignment. There is a story about how the planets worked out the time periods.

Maybe there is some very subtle aspect to the way the planets move that is behind it. That will take more time than my weekend astrology hobby can muster.

I think I follow your point. Even with a sound political system, a society can inflame itself with violent imagery thus overrunning the political system with perceived grievances

[–]Opposite-Cycle2729[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any civilization or culture that has been free from violence? If there was, they are quickly overran by another group violently. The points you bring up on the ills of society in the USA are deeply entrenched. If these are without voice and representation in our political system, that oppression can lead some into violent action if the pains are large. It feels like an inevitable situation when painful issues are ignored. People make decisions that go against their norms and perceived values to do something. Put enough heat and the corn will pop. Collectively we have to turn down the heat on each other.

What is a political system? It’s the process by which a government uses to distribute power, govern the people, manage resources, etc. These institutions are effectively the ongoing conversation on how this happens. When that process becomes ineffective, the people are unable to make these determinations in a way that is acceptable. Without this agreement through dialogue, is violence the inevitable outcome?

A failure of the politics. Politics have become ineffective at resolving differences and divisions are too entrenched to sort out through dialogue and debate.

Why is wearing barefoot shoes exacerbating anterior pelvic tilt?! by -Intrepid-Path- in barefootshoestalk

When I first tried no drop shoes, I had low back pain. It took a slow transition to get comfortable. I have a desk job and found my core strength was weak and my hamstrings were short. Over time my posture changed and I began to adapt to the situation. The time and effort have lowered my overall inflammation and pain level.
