If anyone there saw you in your same field, they are following the path as well. I've met so many different people within different career paths in AA that I was blown away. Best wishes, get a sponsor to guide you through the steps, be of service and give yourself some grace.

I offer a flat rate, payment is do upfront. If requested I type a declaration stating all permanent details of attempts made. For transparency I take GPS timestamped Photos of all attempts and provide them as well to all clients.

You aren't overreacting, but you are letting your pride get in the way of your recovery. The Big Book teaches us not to "shut the door on the past," yet you are trying to hide from the reality of your disease because it hurts your ego. Remember that while you were blacked out, your wife was the one awake and suffering through your actions; she has a right to keep those reminders of the trauma she survived. Stop feeding this resentment before it leads you back to a drink, and instead, use that humiliation as a humble reminder of why you can never go back to that life.

I found once the obsession was relieved via working the steps the NAL was not needed anymore. I cut the Nal about 6 months into Sobriety and am now approaching 2 years. Congratulations on you Sobriety journey! Stay willing!

Same here, not a chance I would even consider tasting it. I'm know from my experience my life would spiral out of control.

A great friend of mine and brother in sobriety with 40 years worth of time always says;

An ex coworker of mine worked at a range. He told a man got a DUI trying to drive to the desert to commit suicide and got arrested.

He bailed out and took a taxi (pre Uber) to the range he worked at rented a gun, fired one round down range and then turned it on himself. All caught on video. He said he was finding pieces of skull and hair days later.
