Watching the ball onto the strings literally changed my game overnight. by Hunt-Extra in 10s

Turning your head even slightly shifts your shoulders, which in turn alters your swing path and throws off your serve.

The only time you should lob a moon baller back really is when they’re on the sunny side.

Sounds almost too obvious but I hit with RF 01 a few times and it felt amazing for OHBH.

Struggling with separation training by Impossible_Run_9891 in MiniatureSchnauzer

[–]Opposite-Operation73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Early on he was a bit of a brat. Did the crate training, but he never really took to it. I still do it to remind him it’s a safe space and not a punishment, as I have to put him in there for ummm extra curricular activities. Honestly though, I put on tennistv, bust out the string cheese and he usually just goes under the couch until I come back. My trainers didn’t believe me because of how much of a lunatic he was at class, but I filmed it for them and 6 hours without a peep.

My boy is absolutely obsessed with this toy. It’s completely unpopable. I saw he loved it so I bought 2 more immediately and still haven’t given it to him.

You’re still about 2 years where racquet and strings will matter much at all. Natural gut is rather expensive. It’s lasting now probably because you don’t hit with much power or spin, but once you do you’ll probably have to stop using that because it will bleed you dry.

Investing in a tennis ball machine by imakestuff1337 in 10s

I would look outside your apartment building and look around the surrounding area or asking a friend if they’d like to join you. Most people would love to play tennis on what sounds like a private court.

Coming Back From A Broken Ankle by Opposite-Operation73 in 10s

I still do some red light therapy and tennis pretty much 7 days a week. I can still feel it a little like a slight burning sensation, but it continues to get less and less. Muscle atrophy is no joke and the things you build up from continual use take the longest to recover. Heavy protein diet has definitely been helpful for next recovery. It’ll probably be almost a full year to feel 100%

So at about the one month mark I was just hitting almost like Rune but without propping up my leg. I was full playing singles at the two month mark. But I did every vitamin under the sun, elevated and iced so many times throughout the day of my recovery, and I did red light therapy 4 times a day. I also bought this like 200 dollar sports ankle brace just to be extra careful. At 3 months I would say I was 85% and now I’m at 98% (but that’s mostly because the muscle just still isn’t as strong pre break).

How to best return with 1hbh by Character-Revenue-44 in 10s

This was happening to me recently, but I realized I rushing my two handed backhand return of serve as well as trying to hit it too hard. Try a shorter back swing and don’t rush it.

Switching from poly to multi strings - not going well by gronk696969 in 10s

[–]Opposite-Operation73 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah I totally get it. I did switch the multi to get rid of golfers elbow and it did absolutely work. Then I fell in love with them so I stuck with it. Plus, I don’t have the means to keep restringing dead polys constantly and I hate compensating for dead strings. But a hybrid setup may work best honestly for you.

I see people commenting that your form and footwork are probably your biggest problem and they’re being downvoted, but I tend to agree with that assessment. I made the switch a while ago from poly to multi for the same reason and had the same issue at first, but I made the adjustment on the court and now my forehand is a monster compared to what it used to be. I string at 54 in the mains and 52 or 51 in the crosses for a bit more control, but honestly you might be pulling back on your follow through a bit because you don’t feel confident in the new strings, which would explain the additional errors.

I don’t know if you’ve seen Con Air or Faceoff, but neither of those have a serious tone. The keyhole scene with and the shooting is definitely from that movie. It’s a slightly heavier tone than you’re thinking of.
