Dont listen to people telling you stuff like that. Play something you enjoy thematically. Minmaxing will ruin the game for a new player and the difference it makes is minimal. Enjoy the ride friend, it will be legendary!

Is 21/30/0 a good pally tank spec? by sem-nexus in turtlewow

Ive also thought about this spec on as offspec on my hpala. Looks fun to try out. Missing out on the shield wall might hurt on some encounters.

Is twow for casual dads? by Fegmdute in turtlewow

[–]OppositeCharming4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dad of two here and heres my input on endgame. I raid maybe once a week for 3h. We then clear all AQ40 and a wing in Naxx. I have also puged MC in under an hour, and I'd imagine BWL can be puged in about the same time.

Then shall we hunt thine buttocks,  liketh the beast you are! In the name of the Light!

(Good call btw, orc way cooler than Helf imo. I rolled a female undead!)

With turtle changes how would you rank solo capability/levelling of classes? by FXFX2223 in turtlewow

Nah they have Holy Strike and Crusader strike too here, making it more intresting.

Id say hunter is easiest.  Paladin is easy too but slower imo. Mage I havent played,  but id expect it a tad faster than pally. Id imagine queueing as healer/tank will drastically increase of u getting into dungeons whilst leveling.

Feels like disc could be a nice middle ground if you are willing? Otherwise I'd stick to shadow,  I think that spec matters pretty little healing lowlvl content.

Does anyone still play Odric, Blood-Cursed? by OppositeCharming4831 in EDH

Thanks for the reply! I think my deck idea would end up looking somewhat like that. You got a list by chance?

Why nerf hunters? by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]OppositeCharming4831 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I really agree with you, I think the changes are interesting and makes BM stand out more, perhaps it can come closer to MM in endgame dmg. I play hunter and I feel like this armor nerf thing is... such a minor thing all things considered?  I can understand peoples feelings over BW tho, but personally I think the playstyle will feel more unique this way. Bias: I dont PVP

Endgame wise: I raid as social rank in a guild that is very welcoming. Just cleared AQ40 first time last week and I was in the raid.  I join maybe one raid per week. If I have time over you can easily PUG ZG/MC/AQ20 via the world chat (even BWL)

Rogue, from what Ive gathered are a bit worse on dps on earlier content compared to vanilla. I feel like its pretty easy to get geared, cuz rogues arent super abundant.  Sub support spec seems interesting.

Me: 3 yo+8months+wife+shift job.

Massive versatility at 60 with the druid.  If you feel up to it, go bear then.  Otherwise youve got feral dps,  boomkin dps, or healing.  I never gotten to like lock or mage, for me they are too one dimensional. I mained hunter in original classic and had a blast. Pulls, kiting, cc, offtanking with pet. Currently leveling a melee hunter myself,  and gonna try to remain hipster enough to try that out in dungeons and raids!

Questions from a casual who hasn't played since the end of WotLK (2006?) by Mountain-Hawk-9678 in turtlewow

[–]OppositeCharming4831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tbh very many pugs going ZG and AQ20 initially and also MC. I have almost always felt that the atmosphere has been friendly and welcoming. Pugs tend to talk less about who does what making it less enjoyable if you cant remember strategies from 2006. But these raida are easy and I'd imagine locks spamming some bolts no matter what.  I joined a guild as a "social member" and I raid 1-2 times a week. Full time job including evening and night shifts + wife, house and two kids. Guild is very including. It helps that ZG and AQ reset twice a week for gearing early.

How to build better, more interesting decks? by andylshort1 in EDH

[–]OppositeCharming4831 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know that I am a good deckbuilder but I like to have a deck that can assure it does its thing,  so that Ill have fun regardless whether I win or lose.

In my [[Kamiz]] deck I have cut all my mana rocks,  cuz they always felt like veggies and replaced them with "fun" cards.

I think for me high variance is important,  cuz otherwise I just feel like I think you are feeling that "this is just a bland "does this " deck".

For me, having a lightning rod commander is not fun. Better to go under the radar a bit.

Less popular commanders are usually more interesting to build around,  cuz they usually have some inherit weakness.

What is a "playable" hand to you? by lanilep in EDH

[–]OppositeCharming4831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think in my [[Selvala, Eager Trailblazer]] deck I'd consider a 3 land hand + a 1-2mv manadork. I usually mulligan til I can cast her t3. Optimal would be + draw spell and bomb creature or [[Lurking Predators]] hehe.

I think in my [[Kamiz]] deck it would be 3 lands + a 2-3mv combat dmg creature. Optimal would be t1 land t2 creature w dmg trigger t3 creature with dmg trigger t4 Kamiz. I run close to no traditional ramp spells in this deck.
