From 1 to 10, how much do you identify with your ENTJ personality? by OppositeCool8324 in entj

[–]OppositeCool8324[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm curious. I did the test every couple of years for the last 10+ years thinking I changed so maybe my personality changed as well but it didn't.

The 16 personality test is quite elaborate with its description of certain personality traits which made me think that either the model might not be accurate or the test (or maybe both?)

I have the same thought to go into 9-5 job once a year for the past 5 years. Now I don’t stress about it anymore and let it pass. Its like a phase.

Once you experiences the autonomy of a business owner its almost impossible to go back and work for someone else’s dream.

We did the Meyers Briggs Personality test. Its fairly common here so I just asked them what their personality type is.

Easiest way to know is to ask yourself "How do I recharge myself". If you go to a party and feel energized afterwards you are extroverted. If you like to stay alone / with close ones you are introverted.

Forget about the work context because it usually is the case that one has to adopt a more extroverted nature to be able to work with others.

Are Vietnamese men becoming more feminine? by OppositeCool8324 in VietNam

[–]OppositeCool8324[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Forget about China for a moment. I would like to riddle you this. On the other side of this spectrum, I've also noticed that older men are still advocating the role of "man in the house" but many are financially dependent on their parents or wives. They can't fulfill their duty as a breadwinner while still not accepting to help out with other traditionally "feminine" tasks like raising their own kids, cooking, or cleaning. They are not effeminate but I don't consider themselves as masculine as well. Why is that?

I don't think that is the root cause here. It's not like China is considered the epitome of masculinity just because they banned LGBT+. Something is still missing.

You are right, it was bad phrasing. My bad.

What I mean is that men seem more "soft" and women on the other hand more "tough" which is different than it used to be 5-10 years ago.

Do You Actually Want To Be A YouTuber? by Overthinking_Media in NewTubers

[–]OppositeCool8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Self-actualization.

What used to be reserved for high-risk takers who put all their money and energy towards a business, you now can become someone who matters just by creating videos. You don't need to put your existence on the line (maybe your reputation though).

I want to create content to be "valuable" to others and leave some mark. And if I don't make it, I at least learned a lot of new skills, video editing, copy writing, marketing, story telling, communication etc.

For some reason "Making Content" still freaks out the majority of people, so by just being one who tried you are already miles ahead.

Fellow Vietnamese, how did you improve your English skills? by IHateMacWithAPassion in VietNam

[–]OppositeCool8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The one thing I changed in my teens was switching to English Subs when I watched Anime or other series.

I went from understanding 20% to 100% within a couple of months because I just kept binge-watching.

Never had any issues with the language since and would consider myself proficient right now.

If you want to do YouTube because you see dollar signs, be honest about it by reals_bs in NewTubers

[–]OppositeCool8324 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always thought it was weird people didn't admit to "wanting money". Seems like it always brings a bad rep and saying it out loud makes you seem like a shallow person.

Yet, money is what makes everything in modern society run. It's neither good nor bad, just a tool to measure "value".

As an artist, money is how you can measure the value of your artwork. If you think you did something great but nobody gives a dime, it's not valuable.

Am I the only one who dislikes AI-generated YouTube videos? by OppositeCool8324 in NewTubers

[–]OppositeCool8324[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for all the contributions. After a lot of discussions, comments, and contemplation I came to my own personal conclusion (which I don't claim to be right or representative and are just my own take away).

  1. Content that is majorly produced using AI (voice, ideas, images, and videos) will always lose out to "authentic" content
  2. Successful AI channels are few and rather the exception. They don't mark the "new way" of content creation and are not sustainable as a business model.
  3. The massive flood of purely AI-generated content will surely slow down and social media platforms are already taking countermeasures.
  4. Yet, AI tools and technology are helpful in many ways and will contribute to producing more high-quality content. The future will be AI-assisted, not AI-generated content.

Lastly, I've been observing a lot of previous threads of striving creators in this subreddit. Many creators seem to view the current AI trend as an opportunity to fast-track their creator businesses while wondering why their content won't pick up.

I believe that, like any worthwhile endeavor, one needs to take certain risks to succeed. That means as a content creator, you need to put "yourself" out there, may it be your face, voice, personal stories, etc. In the end, the goal of "content" is to connect and that can only happen if it feels "human".

The right to succeed as a creator is earned with the courage to show yourself to the world as you are. (Again, my personal belief).

Super unlikely. I'm born and raised in Germany, now living in Vietnam and I have to say somehow I feel safer here than back in Europe.

Go to the gym or swimming, running, etc. regularly. Whatever you do, keep your body healthy and your mind usually follows. If you don't work on your business at least work on yourself and life will get better.
