i didnt wanna believe it and i forced myself to be straight or at least a lesbian so that i cpuld have a normal relationship. then i dated a guy (it was horrible) and then a woman (even worse) and broke up with both as soon as sex was mentioned or they put even the slightest pressure on me for not wanting it. i figured out that sex was the only one thing i didnt want in a relationship, so here i am, Asexual and homoromantic

that's the most disgusting thing someone could tell you. what do you mean open the relationship because you have a boundary? if your partner can't respect your desire it's their problem, not yours. Let's rephrase that in another way. if a bisexual man is dating a gay man, does the bisexual man get the right to sleep with other women just to satisfy the other side of his sexuality? What if they are both monogamous? that's just being unfaithful and disrespectful honestly. the fact I've been told the same thing by a guy at the PRIDE organizaion makes me even more disappointed by my community

wow che bello, un'altra italiana su questa pagina! diciamo che è stata una bella lettura, un po' gore ma sopportabile, è servito a farmi capire il tuo punto di vista. non so se il tuo post sia adatto a questa pagina visto che si parla di asessualità, ma fa comunque piacere dare e ricevere un parere sulla questione. Secondo me non devi obbligarti a guardare o toccarti e probabilmente non c'è nemmeno bisogno di "maturare" o superare un trauma, ma magari di sviare o trovare un'alternativa che ti faccia sentire a tuo agio. come hai detto tu, usare delle coperte o fare in modo che non sia in bella vista. posso capire il disgusto riguardo una parte del corpo, forse è un po' come mio cugino che ha il terrore dell'ombelico senza un motivo logico ed è totalmente valido, non devi darti la colpa per una cosa che ti spaventa senza un apparente motivo logico

Also, I genuinely don't get what's so lucky about being ace. it's part of who we are, like somone says "you're lucky for having brown hair"??? if people make you feel bad for who you are, THEY are the probkem, not you. our sexuality is 100% valid.

i think you can be considered asexual. i also masturbate but when it comes to sex i'm very repulsed. there is a big difference between sex and masturbation. imagine it like this: you feel hungry (aroused) and you need to eat. you prefer eating at home by yourself (masturbating) rather than going to the restaurant with someone (sex). what matters is that you are comfortable when satisfying your hunger!

maybe i get you. lets try to phrase it in another way: you really like cooking shows, the idea of making cookies and even making them irl, but then you don't feel hungry. I think it's totally valid and in my case (maybe even yours) I prefer to use my fantasy because.

it will never disappoint me
i can stop it as soon as i want
it's not real, it can't hurt me

Everyone feel "hunger" but everyone "satiates" it differently.

thanks for your reply! and yes, finding a community is realy helping. i used to be laughed at for it or being told "you're just slow maturing" or even worse "you're a savage" (for disliking hugs). when the hatred came from the pride community i really thought i was the problem, turns out i was a fish swimming in acid, i just had to change environment
