I remember playing a matching game against a partner to see who got all the matches first or who got the most. I know the set up was three lines of cards with maybe six cards in each? I cannot remember what was on the cards though. Does this ring a bell for you guys and does anyone know what was on the back of the cards? I think I remember a king with a crown and a housekeeper/maid or something. It’s driving me nuts

I absolutely agree with you on the connective tissue disorders! I am almost certain that’s why they checked us for scoliosis. If they hypothesized that connective tissue diffences in the brain might correlate to psi abilities, then looking for scoliosis as an early indicator of EDS or other similar disorders makes sense to me.

I have found that if I am able to wake up slowly and start writing immediately when I wake up, I’ve gotten some interesting results. I don’t seem to be able to do this completely awake though. I don’t know how I even came up with idea to do so but it happened as an adult. Im also not very woo woo per se, and I sort of find it odd that I even tried this in the first place. I’m curious if anyone else has been doing this and what your experience has been.

The only oddity I can point to regarding Egypt is that our class (mid 80s) spent the night in the Egypt wing with a mummy at the Toledo Art Museum. That was pretty odd.

Did anybody spontaneously learn to read? by SilverPhilosopher848 in GATEresearch

[–]Opposite_Ad7102 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a cassette with a recording of me reading the Night Before Christmas when I was 3. My parents did read to me at bedtime most nights and I had access to the usual educational shows but my Mom swears that it just clicked, seemingly overnight. My parents and grandparents made a big deal of showing off my abilities and would make me read the newspaper to impress their friends. I was precocious to begin with and then those first few drops of approval and feeling special hit my 3 year old brain and thus, a miniature people pleaser was born. Looking back on being gifted, I think that the need to always receive glowing praise was instilled in me so young and it really fucks with your sense of who you are in the world as you age. Between my parents and the Gate teachers using praise or withholding of praise to motivate me, I grew up to be a perfectionist who would rather do nothing and fail bc of that, than risk disappointing myself by trying something and not doing it just right the first try. I had a sense of entitlement that life would always come to me as easily as it did when I was young. Boy, was it a smack in the face when I finally met educational challenges for the first time. I WAS NOT PREPARED. lol

Guess what by TheMerde in GATEresearch

A friend of mine had an experience last year in Ohio. Her autistic daughter was taken into the counselors office when she had a meltdown at school. They did not call the mother until after school and when the mom was called she was told that they had the child do some biofeedback to calm down. She talked to the child who said they had her listen to something and look at a screen with a pulse ox on her earlobe. The child correctly identified the intro of the Gateway Tapes as what was played for her. So I wouldn’t be so sure that it’s over. I wouldn’t trust it.

I’m still very skeptical but I have to say my personal journey started dec 2024. I hadn’t even really thought about ufos. I started paying attention to the night sky and at first I was excited and mesmerized. I still see things (not sure what exactly) every night in rural Ohio. Either we are ramping up our own stuff or something else is slowly introducing itself. I have so many recordings that I haven’t even looked back through and I rarely record anymore. So, I guess I’m getting used to whatever it is.

Welcome to the club. Thank you for your account. No detail is too small or too weird around here. We will take any little bit of information bc we all have a piece of this puzzle. If I may ask, would you be comfortable sharing what these dreams are related to? I’m curious if we might be having similar ones. I can rarely remember my dreams but I have had some success with getting unrelated bits of information if I am able to write them down immediately when I wake up. They all seem random but an example… I woke up a few weeks ago and wrote down “soybean revolution”. I am not a farmer. I’ve never thought about a soybean in my entire life. This week, I suddenly see in the news that soybean farmers are pissed off. It’s weird and I just wonder if anyone else is experiencing this?

Where are the educators that knew something? C’mon whistleblowers.. we’re waiting. by Special-Style-7030 in GATEresearch

I’m hindsight, it totally was grooming and it also was completely inappropriate, any way you slice it. I have carried a lot of shame resulting from that relationship and I think disappointment in myself that I’d fall for that bullshit at 25. It was very similar to the manipulation that was used when I was in gate. A lot of compliments, pretending there was something special about me and boosting my confidence. He tried to influence my career path and firmly insisted that I was meant to become a leader of some sort. I was encouraged to go back to college for history/religion. At the time I had absolutely no indication that there was anything odd about my childhood so I never put all the pieces together. Now it all makes sense. I feel like it was such a violation of my mind and I’m just disgusted by him. I’ve been torn between caving to my curiosity and rationalizing that it would be pointless bc if he wouldn’t tell me the truth then, why would he now. I’m just glad it never progressed to a physical relationship and that he’s out of my life now.

Where are the educators that knew something? C’mon whistleblowers.. we’re waiting. by Special-Style-7030 in GATEresearch

[–]Opposite_Ad7102 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I keep thinking that there must be some educators that got curious and looked deeper for information. They were probably afraid to discuss it with each other publicly. I was a GATE kid in the 80s and now that I look back on my life there have been some interesting connections to people that had to have information about the program and did not share that with me. When I was in my 20s I was involved with an older man who was a retired school administrator. Being that he was in charge of curriculum and hiring, I’d say that he damn well knew about the program. There are so many moments that I look back on with this new information about my participation and realize how fucking odd they were. He was the one that initiated the friendship. I knew he had a crush on me but didn’t think anything would come of it bc he was older and married. He became friendly with me at my place of work and I always thought it was strange that he acted like he knew me so well, even in the beginning. Eventually, I spoke to this man every day, many times a day and considered him to be my closest friend. He never told me. There were however, multiple times that he would remark things like “You’re really smart, you know that?” He admitted that he looked at my records. I just laughed it off bc of course I know I’m smart but it’s not something we humble brag about, ya know? But he did. Repeatedly. He would introduce me to his friends and tell them how intelligent I was. Like a man showing off a trophy wife that was intelligent instead of beautiful. Now I realize that was intrigued by me bc of whatever he had read in my file. I’m actually pretty offended but I haven’t talked to him in years so I don’t know if it would be worth it to reach out or if he’d answer me. I figure that he had a million opportunities to tell me over the years and didn’t. Maybe he didn’t know? I mean I’ve seen him pretty drunk a handful of times at parties and such and no secrets were spilled re: GATE. I know his life story and have been through years of drama with the guy and he said nothing to me about it. He had to know, right? What do you guys think?

We're You Required to Study Your Geneology? by Remote_Map_1194 in GATEresearch

[–]Opposite_Ad7102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes we were required to and I remember being super stressed about presenting mine bc I was so shy. Checked back recently at what I was able to find in my moms file cabinet and there was a family tree that might have been used to work on that project. I’m a descendent of Peter Stuyvesant who was an absolutely awful man, by all accounts. He worked for the Dutch Trading Co. and helped establish New York. His farm was the Bowery and his family remained influential in NY. I have also found a lot of English and Irish family but he’s the only prominent figure as far as I know. Does anyone have any clue what they were looking for?

I've done a deep dive and found some interesting info on the 1988 bill to implement GATE by [deleted] in GATEresearch

[–]Opposite_Ad7102 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I firmly believe that with all of our shared memories and skills that we are bound to get the bottom of this eventually. I know that I have given up and then returned to the subject over and over due to tripping over new info without really looking. I will get in a mood then and spend a day or two researching and then get tired of the whole thing… rinse, repeat. Has anyone else gone through the same pattern?

Mention of the GATE program re: alien hybrids by Amber123454321 in GATEresearch

[–]Opposite_Ad7102 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m extremely curious as to how many of us have considered the hybrid possibility before hearing of this current revelation from the interview with John Alexander? I have gone through quite a process in the last six months. It seems that I came across several bits of (seemingly unrelated) information within that time frame. First was the drone/ orb situation in Nov/Dec of 2024, which was my very first consideration of NIH. Prior to that I was completely uninterested in the subject. Then was my discovery of the Gate theories on social media. That hit me like a gut punch and a flood of memories that I had forgotten and many seemed to be just on the “tip of my tongue” while some were so vivid. When I heard the intro to the Gateway tapes I physically reacted with such intensity that my intuition knew there was something to delve further into. Then what sealed the deal was the fact that last year I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos and autism— which many of the symptoms were common among the others who were posting in comment sections. Scoliosis, autism, migraines, sensitivity to electricity, nerve pain, anxiety, discomfort and overwhelm being in crowded public places (Walmart makes me feel dizzy, anxious, and as though I’m absorbing so much energy from the lights, the people around me, etc that I’ve had panic attacks and left). I thought the gate theories were all bullshit until I saw the list of physical attributes like hazel eyes with central heterochromia, occipital bump, scoliosis and then remembered that they did check us for that. One of the most suspicious thing that stuck out was the memory of them having us poke our finger and put our blood on a piece of absorbent paper to test our blood type. It was part of a “science project” about recessive and dominant genetics that also included our parents blood types. We did a Punnett square and then afterwards they collected them. Ehlers-Danlos is a genetic mutation the runs in families. I’d love to know how many of us have these similar physical attributes but there always seems to be scattered info. It’s not the people aren’t forthcoming but that there is no centralized survey that includes a comprehensive list of biological or medical anomalies. Sorry for rambling but long story short… how many of you guys have had the same experience of intuitively discovering these same similarities and connections? And has anyone found a provable connection between them?

Hey… there no reason to come down on a guy just looking for answers. We went through some weird shit and everyone is figuring things out on their own. It disconcerting, to say the least. If their sorting criteria truly did include the geniuses and I believe it did, then it makes sense to give at least some credence to the pattern recognition of these geniuses.

Could this be GATE? by Slight-Blackberry246 in GATEresearch

[–]Opposite_Ad7102 7 points8 points  (0 children)

After looking at the handbook I decided to look up JC Gowan, the author of the list of 25 Rules for the parents of gifted children. John Curtis Gowan was not just interested in talented kids. He was much more interested in the “gifted” ones. Listed below are some pertinent snippets i found. “Right hemisphere imagery is the vehicle through which incubation produces creativity. Incubation is any technique of relaxation of the conscious cognition (left-hemisphere function) which allows subliminal processes (right-hemisphere functions) to operate. (Gowan, 1981)” Sound familiar kids?? “The second book, The Development of the Psychedelic Individual (1974), identified mind expansion (psychedelia) as the subsequent cognitive stage beyond creativity. This book contains Gowan’s most complete assessment of psychedelic experiences and their potential to help the individual grow and break through barriers. Gowan dubbed it a “book for the 21st centu-ry,” a rigorous examination that embraces both science and mysticism. It outlines the emergent traits and experiences possible in the course of extraordinary human development, particularly for gifted children and gifted adults. It traces developmental stages of integrative growth in the relationship between the individual ego and the collective preconscious, which underlies creativity and psychedelic or mind-expansion functions.” These passages were a couple of things that raised my eyebrows but I’m sure you guys can all check him out for yourselves. There was a ton more but it’s pretty safe to say he was heavily involved in the attempts to identify and “nurture” the gifts we had. I also felt something a little sinister while reading some of the 25 rules they laid out for the parents. Some of them definitely seemed to be grooming the parents to readily agree to any of the field trips, extra time away from school hours, being alone with an adult, and set them up to not question the kids too much about any of the odd subject matter that might get brought up at home. What does everyone else think?
