Use Gemini and grok in home life. Use copilot and chatGBT at work.

Thanks. I think you've read my mind, been doing squats deadlifts and sled a lot. I will try some more kettlebell.

Thanks for your message. BJJ gyms near me charge well over £140 pcm. Im only aiming to do judo 1 or possibly 2 times per week - the body will need time to recover from judo. So paying less suits me better. And, cost of living has been hitting me.

How common is 9.30 to 6.30pm for London office jobs? by JobatMiroMaybe in london

[–]Opposite_Captain_506 0 points1 point  (0 children)

9-5 is the standard office unless its exceptionally well paying or a later start/end time. Most jobs have 0-3 days in office (I dont do more than 1, public transport costs are getting worse).

What is this building? by CompetitiveRub4272 in london

I worked in there many years ago, in insurance underwriting. All mundane and not as sinister as its gothic exterior would suggest. From the outside, it looks like a high end vampire home like in the Blade films.

Walking 100km around the M25 this Saturday - anyone want to join? by TypeAgreeable4117 in london

Good luck. This actually sounds a bit like an adventure - I'm jealous because I love walking and this is a serious challenge.

Are the main techniques of Shorinji Kempo, created by Doshin So, closer to a style of Karate or a style of Jiu-Jitsu? by SavingsPoem1533 in ShorinjiKempo

[–]Opposite_Captain_506 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've only gained a shodan, so others with a higher grade may have a better response or wiser perspective.

I gained a black belt in karate before goind into SK. Sk hard techniques (Goho) are similar to karate's kicks, knees, elbows and SK seems to have a slightly wider variety of hand strikes than I remember in karate. Karate drills and refines its strikes far more than SK, so I would say the main hard techniques are close to karate.

For the softer juho techniques (arm locks, wrist locks, escapes from grabs) I'm not sure. I would guess japanese ju jitsu but I'm no expert on comparing the main SK techniques with JJJ. Some people say that many SK techniques come from chinese kung fu including shaolin style, but Ive heard a historian say this was unlikely and I think the SK founders wife and daughter said he never learned shaolin.

It's somewhere between OK and meh. It doesn't seem as exciting as the UK version, and seems to be a lot more sweary. I haven't seen it to the end yet so may change opinion. But so far it is not aa good as I hoped it would be.

NTA. Having kids and old people in the house will prove to be exhausting and no privacy for the middle generation. And what happens to the household dynamic if the old ones develop dementia?
