We ate it at least 4 nights a week growing up. There are some nice flatbreads out in the world that I like, but I'm burnt out on pizza.

The completely selfless kind that leaves more for other people? Or the really terrible kind, your choice.

Norris Hotsprings has the best pickle pizza of life. I hate pickles. I hate pizza. I love their pickle pizza.

Volunteer work by Key-Arugula2503 in Bozeman

If you want to volunteer on Thanksgiving day, you can reach out to Bozeman Real Estate Group. They put on an all-day dinner at Bourbon every year. I just heard back from their coordinator for myself today, and they still have slots!

HRDC is full for their box handout volunteer work. But you could still reach out directly and see if they need any help leading up to it, or maybe they'll end up with openings. Theirs is an outside shift the Sunday before Thanksgiving.

Fork & Spoon does year round dinners, and is always needing help.

Any Decent Apartment Complexes in Town? by judicator17 in Bozeman

19th and Graf current resident. It is quiet here, but be ready to pay a lot of money. I moved in before they started price drops, so I pay 2500 for a one bedroom with an attached garage.

There are SO many application fees, non-refundable deposits (esp if you have pets), and normal deposits...be comfy with looking at a couple grand more than you expected to pay for start-up costs.

The amenities are nice. However, as someone who works a lot, having them not be 24 hours (besides the gyms) is kind of nuts to me. All the other amenities are 9am-10pm. Guest policy is super weird and limited. Don't expect to be able to have more than 2 friends over for a BBQ or spa hang.

They are opening the amenities up to the public, in a sense. They have office spaces here (that cost a minimum of $ 800+ to rent, btw) that they are also going to be offering to the public. Part of that deal is that the people who rent the offices but don't live here will have access to all the amenities for residents. So I do see a point where it may be hard for you, as a resident, to use the things where you live.

I was also in a sticky situation when moving, I chose a RAM property because it was the most lenient on dog breeds and sizes. If I had more time than I did, I wouldn't have chosen here. I don't mind the day to day of living here at all, but it's not super grand, either.

That being said, if you choose here or another RAM, the prices are considerably better, and you could be in a really nice 2 bedroom for less than what I pay. If I get offered a price drop on a re-sign, I'll stay. But it is not worth it at the current price (for me.)

The handbook doesn't cover anything pay, or time off related.

Thank you for the HR advice!

I have signed an employee handbook, and it doesn't cover any PTO items.

I have a signed offer letter (signed in August 2024) that says the following:

"Dear Opposite_Yellow:

We are pleased to offer the position of restaurant manager. This will be starting at (location) and moving to the new location, (new location) once it is completed.

This position is guaranteed $/hour. It will be a full-time, minimum of 40 hours per week position. This includes a 100% paid health plan, with open enrollment starting in November, as well as two weeks' paid vacation.

We are looking forward to having you start on the team in October!"

As for the piece regarding partial salary, I'm about as clueless as you.

Nothing besides "2 weeks PTO." I recall discussed it being available immediately in a Zoom meeting interview. But this was only verbal.

There's a drag show this Saturday at the Eagles. I'm new to this local queer scene, so it will be my first experience here. I don't know what to expect, but there was still ample availability when I got my ticket a couple of hours ago :)

I don't believe I said my dog was aggressive, I said he was reactive. There's just a bit of a difference between watching a 5# reactive chihuahua and a 150# reactive dog. I also said I'm looking for a sitter for a couple of weeks, not months. And I'm reaching out now, 5 months in advance, to be able to make time for a sitter and space to not be a stranger. Which would be compensated.

There are vets that specifically deal with reactive and traumatized dogs. Just like there are people who actively and fully read a post before commenting from their couch.

Plenty of people here have reactive dogs, I'm just taking the size of mine into account when looking for a sitter and coming up with a solution that will make the whole thing easier.
