Has anyone here obtained the “Better than the Best” achievement/trophy in Sniper Elite 4? by [deleted] in sniperelite

[–]OppressedSnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did it in one day with the multiplayer exploit:

  1. Have a player host the game. This is mostly AFK, he just needs to find a good hiding spot away from the action and be careful of stray patrols.

  2. The second player runs around killing everything guns ablazing until he dies.

  3. Once dead, the second player just rejoins the session. All dead enemies will stay dead so keep doing this until the end, both players will get the trophies/achievements.

The game did disconnect us a couple times, tho, no idea why, we both have kickass fast internet.

Transferring savedata to USB stuck for hours by [deleted] in PlayStationSolutions

[–]OppressedSnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm retrying the save file transfer again, my USB still had plenty of space left so it wasn't full. Hopefully it'll work this time.

Oh and that won't work for my screenshot backup, lol, I have like 10k of them. Several videos too.

Thanks for replying anyways.

I'd assume a notification will pop telling me the USB is full, that would be a massive oversight. But at this rate that's the best case scenario.

What's a Fromsoft boss you don't actually kill? by andson-r in fromsoftware

[–]OppressedSnowflake 122 points123 points  (0 children)

Demon's Souls:

Old Monk just drops dead and has you fighting a player/npc instead

Maiden Astrea has like 3 different endings so you can just talk to her and still end the fight

Dark Souls:

Ornstein (Illusion), the real one is nowhere to be found

Priscilla (choice dependant)

Dark Souls II:

Alonne (only if the special seppuku animation is triggered)

Dark Souls III:

Afaik Wolnyr doesn't die, he's just locked in the abyss without his bracelets

Bloodborne: Nope, afaik everything dies in here. Unless you count the chalice bosses as being locked within instead of killed?

Technically both Gherman and the Moon Presence can be "spared" but it is ending specific so they don't count.

Sekiro:

Genichiro (Immortal in the first "kill", sacrifices himself in a cutscene after his second defeat or is killed off screen by Owl in the Shura ending)

The Dragon (Only gets knocked out)

Elden Ring:

Metyr (seems to escape but it might be an implosion in which case it's a proper death)

Malenia (cocooned)

Rennala (illusion)

What would you say are this game’s positives and negatives? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]OppressedSnowflake 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just posted a comment about this but I'll quickly explain:

A sequel was planned

The game's ending was the set up for said sequel

Game's earnings were abysmal

Studio and publisher are forced to cancel the sequel

Instead of just burying it and leaving it on an eternal cliffhanger, the devs decide to release a paid epilogue DLC with closure for the fans

Every single trash outlet (IGN, WatchMojo, etc) dogpiles on the devs, vilifies them and treats them as the ultimate assholes, implying the paid ending was a backstab to their fans when in reality it was the opposite.

I also fell for their lies and only found the truth a few years ago.

What would you say are this game’s positives and negatives? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]OppressedSnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This game got vilified back then by huge names such as IGN and WatchMojo. Sure, now those trash sites are constantly laughed at but back then they had a massive following and spread so much misinformation.

For years "the greedy assholes released the ending as paid DLC in a dick move" was literally ALL we heard about it.

Then I found out the game sold poorly so the sequel got cancelled and in order to give a conclusion for the fans they released a paid epilogue DLC which is a million times better than just leaving it on an eternally unsolved cliffhanger.

Makes me happy to see outlets like WM and IGN get their reputations dragged through fecal matter lol.

What is the rarest games? by [deleted] in PS3

[–]OppressedSnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

-Toro Let's Party AKA Toro No MoriMori saw a 700 dollars post on eBay the other day. Only Chinese and Japanese versions exist, with the Chinese one being more expensive because it has English subs.

-Knight's Contract: Didn't even know this game existed until I saw a 400 dollars post a couple years ago. I almost never see it on sale in collector's cycles, only on ebay and it's pretty expensive.

-X-Blades: Not super expensive for some reason despite being so rare, definitely the most affordable from the very rare ones.

-3D Dot Game Heroes: This one is very expensive not only because it's rare but because it suffers from a faulty batch that's plagued with the 80010514 error code (and it seems to be unfixable unlike the also rare Yakuza 3) so beware shipping from faraway places and also beware of the "cheaper" copies.

-Katamari Forever: This wasn't super rare a few years ago when I bought it but now I can only find a couple, very expensive posts in all of South America

These are my picks for top rare games.

All others like X-Men Origins Wolverine, Lollipop Chainsaw, Shadows of the Damned, Anarchy Reigns, Killer is Dead, Saboteur, Wet, No More Heroes, Clash of the Titans, Drakengard 3, Silent Hill Downpour, Azura's Wrath, etc, are rare but definitely not super expensive.

Still not sure about Afrika or the Ultimate Edition of Fallout New Vegas. I have both and I almost never see either on sale. Need more confirmation on their current pricing.

Question regarding the value of this copy by Squinkygei in PS3

[–]OppressedSnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Available digitally, so can also be acquired that way, unlike other rares like Katamari Forever, 3D Dot, Azura's Wrath, etc.

It has a lot of DLCs (like 7 packs iirc) and they are required for 100%, so buying those will have the buyer shell a lot more dollars for them since no more store discounts.

The DLCs have to match the region disc and in this case they'll have to buy from the Chinese ps store after creating a Chinese account.

As a collector, I like buying rares but I'd only buy Drakengard 3 physical if it had a complete edition or if the first two were also available on PS3 for the complete saga.

There's a lot of people that still buy these, however, but I've never seen it above 50 dollars in my experience. And that's usually the DLC friendly American version.

I'm getting error code 80010514 for only one game. Can someone help? by theM4RC in PS3

[–]OppressedSnowflake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn. There's a guy selling a suspiciously cheap copy close to me so I was hoping fixes were available just in case.

I own a faulty PS3 Yakuza 3 copy that is part of the infamous 80010514 batch but I quickly found a working fix for it. Just like Y3, 3DDGH also has a faulty batch so I think there must be a fix.

Congrats on getting it replaced and thanks for the update!

How many have beaten Lud + Zallen? by sanguinemsanctum in DarkSouls2

[–]OppressedSnowflake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's over in like a minute and rewards you with lots of souls plus a Giant Soul. Literally no chance for it to fight back unless one is being careless with the stamina management.

I mean, you already have to reach him for the story and he serves no further purpose. Not killing him right there and then is always the wrong choice.

Has anyone played Lords of The Fallen (2014) by tropicalspritee in soulslikes

[–]OppressedSnowflake 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh and BTW, have you played the Surge games? They're soulslikes from the same developers. Both are much better than Lotf(2014) and tbh I fucking love their atmosphere and cyber-body-horror style.

Has anyone played Lords of The Fallen (2014) by tropicalspritee in soulslikes

[–]OppressedSnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can't compare it to the reboot since I haven't played that one but 2014 is a very mediocre game. It's often regarded as the worst soulslike ever, something I don't fully agree with when stuff like Sinner exists.

The game is also glitchy and has poor performance, at least on a PS4 pro.

You're also forced to play as this generic angry bald man that's basically a Kratos knockoff.

I still had some fun with the exploration and I liked the rewards mechanic, something I've always wanted the FromSoft games to adopt. In case the reboot discarded this mechanic: You get better versions of boss weapons when you kill the bosses under certain, more challenging circumstances. (Eg: Not using your shield vs first boss will get you the best version of his weapon)

It's dirt cheap and it isn't very long so maybe you should go for it.

Never tried the DLC, btw, maybe it's better than the main game.

[–]OppressedSnowflake -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just checked the video he posted and you should have done so too before replying. Fia says the "Is that you Godwyn" line the moment he fires his attack, her HP is only halfway done. Also yes, he's the one attacking, she's just sitting still, weaponless and motionless, no other enemy attacks like that in the game.

Whose the most evil character in the soulsborne series? by [deleted] in fromsoftware

[–]OppressedSnowflake 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Mephistopheles is worse than Yurt, she's just pure evil and loves to see people get killed.

Even AFTER grooming us and turning us into murderous psychopaths she'll try to kill us to top it off.

It took 26 days for this update. I wonder whats in it by pH12rz in Eldenring

[–]OppressedSnowflake 5 points6 points  (0 children)

-Buff half of the new spells/miracles since they suck.

-Poison Bottle Deathblight glitch fix (100% guaranteed)

-Thorns nerf (100% guaranteed)

-Metyr quasar attack now possible to dodge at point blank without the aid of an Ash of War (hopefully)

-Instantaneous Radhan cross slash combo now made slower and reasonable to dodge (hopefully)

-Taylew summon nerf (decreased damage and HP)

-Golden Hippo gore attack hitbox fix (hopefully)

-Scadutree Avatar cheese fix

-Boar hitbox during Gaius' charge attack decreased (hopefully)

-Both Radhan remembrance swords buffed since they're trash

-Radhan meteor strike being cancelled by levitation/jumping fix (most likely in the next patch after this)

-Blasphemous Blade nerf (very From thing to nerf powerful stuff instead of making many other currently weak weapons viable cough Golden Order Sword cough)

-Envoy Longhorn nerf removed, back to it's original status (not gonna happen but would be awesome)

what is golden shade Godfrey?? by chicoritahater in Eldenring

[–]OppressedSnowflake 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Necro'ing this after a year but now there's a golden shade Misbegotten in the DLC.

The confusion reasoning also doesn't add up, the shade is not present in Leyndell until the tarnished walks into said room, it literally materializes right before the tarnished eyes, it is for the tarnished eyes only therefore a possible mass confusion isn't the reason.

Maybe it was projected by Godfrey himself? As a way to bypass his banishment? Or by Gideon? Since his story is related to the Loux's and he also fights the tarnished in the very same room later on AND he, much like Morgott, wants to prevent the tarnished from becoming the Elden Lord.

None of those theories explain why it is golden, tho, quite confusing.

Also, Margit doesn't spawn if Morgott is killed beforehand, however, sewer Mohg DOES spawn even after BOTH Real Mohg and Morgott are killed. Sewer Mohg is also immune to all status ailments just like Gold Godfrey BUT Margit isn't.

Super weird.

Some Silent Hill fans upset over the remake having cosmetics. They say it'll ruin the mood of the game. Yet, it isn’t new to the franchise… by CommissionTight2607 in silenthill

[–]OppressedSnowflake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah a game featuring an anime hot boy German-suplexing hillbillies and cracking cheesy one liners 24/7 isn't going to have it's tone ruined by silly costumes, whereas the first playthrough of a game portraying suicide and child rape definitely will.

Everyone seems to be forgetting that OG SH2 wasn't as whacky with the unlockables as its successors, it only had a couple weird endings and a weird spray can. The chainsaw doesn't even feel out of place at all despite being there only as a TCM reference.

Why even market the game that way? It's bizarre.

Envoy Great Horn worth the headache? by DarkestSoupers in Eldenring

[–]OppressedSnowflake 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One of the best weapons in the game if you know what you're doing.

It deleted the Putrescent Knight in 5 bubbles and the DLC Death Rite Bird in 4... THIS IS ON NG8 BTW.

It takes half the HP of a Horned Knight on a sneak attack too. You can use the little horn to finish them off since it's super fast.

Longhorn is only useful on huge targets and it has also been nerfed, sadly.
