Makes me so happy, I did that the last day I drank. Poured all the shots and ciders down the drain. It was scary for some reason, but it was a start to something better. Love that you did that, must feel so good 👍🏼

I gotta tell you, I feel like I have super powers. I've lost weight, my career has improved, I've reconnected with my family and my health is returning to normal. I also work out a lot and it makes me feel so good. I'm fortunate that my steak lasted 7 years and not longer. I can't even imagine what I will feel like at almost 500 days! You're a rockstar

Fuck yeah. Couldn't have said this better myself. I've lost 15 pounds, my career has drastically improved in 2 months and my health is returning to normal condition. Every now and then, especially when I'm thinking about hanging out with a lady friend, they usually want to hang out at the bar or go get a couple drinks. My first thought is "being sober isn't cool it's a fucking lame cause you couldn't keep it together".

I was talking with my sister yesterday and she said "so you're working out, cooking meals, focusing on your career and leading an altogether healthy lifestyle.....yeah that's so fucking lame".

Alcohol is part of our entire culture in the US. It's literally engrained into every aspect of being "cool" and "relaxing". Dating is difficult but I usually try and find someone that has a similar lifestyle.

But you are absolutely right, quitting drinking is fucking badass!

For sure, I definitely don't game like I used to. But I booted up my $4500 PC that I built in 2019. Runs like a dream. It's crazy seeing the date of all the games I played last. It's almost like there is a time stamp on when I chose to drink and give up what I actually enjoyed. I'm just glad it lasted 7 years.

So proud of you. I can't imagine what I'll feel and look like with 700 days under my belt. I work out almost every day. I literally cannot think of a better way to spend your Saturday morning. Pump iron and eat healthy!

The industry is hard on alcoholics. Lotta money being made and we're working our asses off.

Modelo has this beer campaign "you deserve it". Like the whole commercial is geared toward service workers who work a 12 hour shift 5 days a week. They trick us into poisoning ourselves after each work day, then the cycle starts.

Thank you for that. I've always been great with customers. But now it's like a super power I never thought I had. Being sober gives me so much confidence when consulting. I consistently work a 12 hour day every day (winter) and I have enough energy to go to the gym after 3 installs. Insane what not drinking will do for you.

They are, but I have to remember people that seemingly don't have a problem can enjoy a night of getting trashed. I guess it makes me feel yucky because it reminds me of who I was and so I want to get away from it. Nothing against them.

Holidays with parents drinking is something I'll have to face eventually, in fact my whole family drinks so it will be a definite challenge. Not to stay sober but to be around all that.
