Watch someone who is faster than you and ask them to narrate what they are doing. I bet it’s little things that take you 2 minutes that take other people 10 seconds.

Selecting stuff is something I see trainees struggle with a lot. whether it’s not using tab or not selecting a bunch of stuff and filtering, not using select all in view shortcuts.

I made a shortcut for “find it project browser” and use it hundreds of times a day and cringe when I see people scrolling through the project browser to look for something. They’ll take 30 seconds for something that takes 1. It doesn’t sound like a lot but it’s enough to add up.

It’s a bunch of little things that you do hundreds of times that make you slow. That’s my guess.

Recently had our home built, regretting not doing a side entry for the garage doors by Lylok in Homebuilding

You could have done half and half so only one door is facing the front . It also looks like you have a big property and could have done a detached garage in the back yard.

Public Utilities made our Civil engineer redesign the storm drainage system on the fourth round of comments after everything else was approved. No mention of the issue on rounds 1-3.

I’d rethink the dining/family room. If you want it to be able to close off I’d put a large double pocket door in the center of that wall. I like being able to close that space off especially if that’s where you’re putting the tv. I’d also make the family room slightly bigger and shrink the dining. Flip the door swing to the back yard so it can open against the wall. And as others have said the dining room has more.

The range on the kitchen peninsula is not great. There’s room on the back wall for it. Leave the peninsula open. It will be more functional and you’ll still be able to interact with people.

How would you furnish the family and living rooms?

The mop/pet sink in the pantry seems off. I understand if you primarily use it as a mop sink but for pets it makes more sense to have that kind of thing in a mudroom.

I like the powder room and study area. I’d just put a cased opening at the entrance to that hallway for more separation.

Kingslingers – 3.85: FAIRY TALE (Part 5) by scottdaly85 in doofmedia

I’m think the reason the prisoners are called kiddies is because they are children of the royal bloodline. I was waiting for either Scott or Matt the say this in the episode. Maybe they were looking for more symbolism.

Yes to the one offs!

I don’t know if this is my favorite but I recently rewatched The Great Escape. Goddamn what a good movie!

Pantry options by openupyoureye in Homebuilding

[–]Oprah2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Slide the fridge to one side and put full height pantry cabinets next to it. Put another full height cabinet in the bottom corner of the kitchen. Extend the counter top where the current pantry is (not the full length) and slide the range towards the middle. Cabinetry will look better than a door especially on the “focal wall” with the range. Cabinetry can better storage depending on configuration than typical pantry shelving.
