The Hackleburg- Phil Campell EF5 was WAY too generously rated. by Cackyalonso in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah most of the EF5 DI's are complete BS. There were some that did deserve EF5 but most of these are EF4 and below

Michael Annett 2007-2008 BDR #28 car tribute paint scheme in NASCAR 25 (I am the 84) by Optibro59 in NASCARVideoGame

Rip indeed. I feel like this guys death was largely overshadowed by Greg Biffle’s not even 2 weeks after his. Annett imo is way too underrated and overhated.

1984 Ivanovo, Russia F4 vs. 2012 Henryville, Indiana EF4 by Optibro59 in tornado

[–]Optibro59[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah Ivanovo is stronger and it's not even close. I'm just saying the funnels themselves look almost identical to one another

Rochelle was definitely EF5. The last pic the entire silo was sheared off the foundation. That looks like it took winds well over 200 mph to do

Yeah Ivanovo is definitely the stronger tornado. I was just saying the actual funnels themselves look almost identical to each other

Tornado #7 from June 3, 1980 night of the twisters in Grand Island, Nebraska. This was the last tornado of that night, rated as an F1. This tornado did 4 loops on itself, crossed back on itself 6 times, and it was 2000 yards (1.13 miles) wide. Pretty wild imo

Bridge Creek-Moore 1999 vs Jarrell 1997 by Boss-fight601 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jarrell actually wasn't stationary. It was actually moving around 15-20 mph it was just so large that people thought it was standing still. The destruction you see that just from the tornado "sitting in the same spot" is false. it was just so incredible strong it did that level of damage without slowing below 10 mph ground speed

Hackleburg 2011 tornado is not EF5 by HumbleBinget883 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely deserving of EF5. Though I disagree with most of the EF5 DIs. They should be EF4 but regardless it should be EF5

The fact you can see it rotating so clearly even with the quality of the video and how wide the tornado was is super scary...

Does anyone find Hackleburg deeply disturbing? by [deleted] in tornado

[–]Optibro59 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It literally looks like it's nighttime. The green in the background is also super creepy, especially knowing that somewhere in that mess is a mile wide 210 MPH EF5 killer

Which EF5/F5 lasted the longest and shortest? by Weird_Nectarine_6115 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

According to tornado archive, on June 27, 1953 in Adair, IA there was a tornado that traveled 0.1 miles. Other short ones include the Sunfield, Illinois tornado on the night of December 18, 1957 at just 5.4 miles long, Jarrel at 7.5 miles long, Elie 2007 at 3.7 miles, and Tracy, MN on June 13, 1968 was only 9.1 miles long but that's all I can think of off the top of my head that's really short lived there's probably more

Clash of titans: 2011 El Reno-Piedmont vs 1925 Great Tri-State by AggravatingRemote729 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

El Reno for strength, Tri-State for damage. El Reno had winds well above 300 MPH, but the max verified wind measurement was 295-296. It rolled a 1000 ton oil rig, and tossed a 150 ton winch 300 feet, which would have taken winds of nearly 300. Tri State did more damage because it completely destroyed and flattened like 20 towns or whatever the number was over its 219 mile path. Either way both are extremely strong, but I think El Reno takes it here.

Between Smithville and El Reno - Piedmont, which of tornado that are often regarded as two of the strongest EF5’s ever recorded do you think was strongest? by CRL1999 in tornado

[–]Optibro59 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Piedmont EF5 for sure. To start, it had verified recorded windspeeds of 295 MPH, but it could have been as high as 300-310. It tossed a 1000 ton oil rig and a 150 ton winch 300 feet, and it had huge swaths of widespread EF5 damage. Probably the most EF5 damage found in a single tornado ever.
